So my MSP needs a motor, pretty sure i spun a rod. I posted something awhile back about it and i was told the cheapest route to take was to get a bottom end from a different 2.0 liter mazda, looking for more info on this.

I would go with a Speed Circuit block if you got the money, otherwise any 2.0 FSDE motor from a junk yard or wherever would work fine.

Yeah, If you want to build it but need it fast get a speed circuit block. If you just want it fast and cheap then get a used FSDE 2.0 and swap the windage tray over and your done.

u have to wait like 3-5 days to see what paypal charge on ur account then u go back to paypal then type the two amounts they took from ur account.

Thanks for the help checked out speed circuit and found what i think im looking for but not positive because its so cheap compared to the $3000 I've been seeing for a stock replacement. Hope to get it back on the road soon its too nice here to be driving the winter beater

It sure is a rip off because you can find a running complete FS motor 98-03 for $600 or less all day long here in Florida. For $3K that engine better be brand new with quality aftermarket parts, balanced and blueprinted.

Sounds like Honda boys and their awesome GSR motors. Some dude at my work paid 4k for a used GSR, when I could get a Speed Circuit block for the same price and make double the power easy.

Yeah the shop i took it too said $3500 for a used motor installed with 80K on it. or $3900 for a crate motor. Talked to the guy from speed circuit a little bit and i think im going that route, has anyone else had good luck with their motors? I'm also looking for more information on swapping over the windage tray and anything else i will need to pull off my current motor beside exhuast manifold, intercooler, intake etc. I will have someone who knows what they're doing pull the motor with me but need as much info as possible

when i had my new crate motor installed from mazda it cost the warranty company about 3900 dollars.

well when u buy them from the stealership the price is redonkolus. i wish i woulda known back then what i know know i coulda had a forged block for less.
