Blower for a 2003 P5

i dont think a custom job would be too much, just gotta find the right guy to do it.

I have seen the Vortech supercharger on the Wings West Protege and a white and Black P5. But I believe that Vortech doesnt have any plans on persuing development for our cars.

Bummer.

You don't want a centrifugal blower anyway...They aren't as good as a roots or whipple.

And, to answer the question. You'll have to source the blower yourself and make the intake manifold and run the belts yourself.

Sorry, no dice on the blowers, just no popular enough...Yet.

andrew from wagner motorsports said he will make one but he needs a volunteer and cost would be about 4 grand....

Just don't want one if I can get a Blower. No turbo lag.

Get the right size turbo and there is very little lag...

Get a centrifugal blower and you will have all kinds of lag.

Get a roots type blower and you will have very little boost at altitude.

Get a whipple and you'll be on the right track.

But, that's just MHO...

get hold of a roots style supercharger from the toyota 4agze or abigger one on the 1g-ge or somthing like that. get a front mount intercooler you will need it as the stock ones are s*** top mounts. you need to upgrade your fuel system eg: extra injectors. lose the air con. and mount the blower in its place plumb up the pipes get atune up and away you go, minus the A/C. be cool get the turbo.

unless you have way too much money turbo is the way to go for now.... biggest gains per dollar !! just get a quick spooling turbo or get forged internals and run nos to elinate the turbo lag!!

almost everyone on this forum who has run NOS on these engines has done serious damage, just to forewarn you. wet or dry, most of them have blown their engines. it has less to do with internal strength, it has more to do with the fuel system and the delivery of fuel by the ECU.

I agree...

I have yet to see a 2.0L owner that used nitrous for a prolonged period that didn't have some kind of damage, most being expensive and terminal...

You can do nitrous correctly, but it involves a lot more than just the bottle and plumbing...In the end you will be approaching the price of an entry level turbo kit, and still have to deal with filling the bottle and only using it 10% of the time you drive...

I don't see the advantage of an SC on a protege as of now...If a company would release a bolt-on kit that gave 4-5psi for around 2200-2500 that might be ok...but it still would not give the gains of an entry turbo kit...Most of the current kits give very good throttle response and linear power...also with modern turbochargers, lag is not much of a problem anymore as long as it is right for the application...

It just comes down to research and the right parts...A giant T-88 will be in "lag mode" all the time on an FS...but a T-25 spools fast enough that you barely notice it...and you are not fixed with what boost you get with a Turbo

the thing we really like about s/c is that it feels like a real part of the engine. turbos just feel like its something that dosent really belong there

There a supercharger...

out of Taiwan for us. I think its AAW or something makes it, the page is in Taiwanese ? so its hard to get the details. Do a search on here and you'll find the link. The problem is shipping, and the conversion makes it a $7000 CAD item. It is roots type though.

wagnermotorsports.net is looking for a car to make one for. He wants to build a SC kit.

there are a ton of SC link in the FI section... they all say the same thing
