Blow Off Valve

Ok theres so many post about blow off valves I've checked out so many which one is a nice bov and is easy to install and if anyone has pictures of an install I know you have to take the hose from the intake off and plug it and put the bov on the hose that connects to the intercooler but how do you mount it and every bov has a flange to mount to and are hose doen't have that so the question is whats a nice bov to use I heard greddy S is nice and how do you install it. pictures if poss. thanks

u gotta get hard pipes if u want an atmospheric BOV
 
YOU CANNOT MOUNT THE GREDDY TYPE S BOV TO PLASTIC OR RUBBER PIPEING. THE GREDDY TYPE S REQUIRES ALUMINUM OR STEEL FLANGES TO BE PROPERLY INSTALLED.........

as long as it seals completely, what does it matter where it's mounted to?

The reason some people are stalling is because the ECU is expecting the air that is normally recirculated. If its vented to the atmosphere its not there. It doesn't matter what material you use (within reason) what matters is if its sealed and solid.

something worth mentioning tho, is the ecu learns over time if you can drive around the stalling for a few months or so, then the ecu wont need that extra air and stalling will cease.
 
So you don't stall at all. I love the way a bov sounds vented to the atmosphere, much better than recirc if you ask me.
 
look at the picture mine is recirced but its just resting not all the air goes down the tube... but i dont stall at all i stalled maybe 2 times sense i put that bov on... and they were all in the first week or so.. ive had it that way almost 3 months probably..

btw u only get the gobble like a turkey if your taking ur time shifting, i have noticed when im everydya driving i get the turkey sound, but when im at the track and im shifting through the gears its just a sharp wahpooosh ta and thats it... of course im shifting alot faster and harder than i do everyday driving.

do you understand what a bov does other than make a look at me noise? and since the stock bpv ain't broke, why change it to begin with? nobody here is pushing enough boost for the stocker to become worthless.
stalling=venting. period. can be done with stock too if you want it to.
before just believing someone, do some research for yourself to see if what they have told you is valid. i believe this same person told you that it wouldn't work on an msp at all ever. bov's are universal parts that can be used on all turbo cars, yet you're trusting this guy?

your right which is why soon as i get the ion perf fmic i'll be going back to the stock bov.. running the at the track then putting on the greddy type s and running to find out the difference...
 
YEA IM TRUSTING HIM CUZ HE'S A TECH AND ITS HIS PRODUCT. AND RYAN YOUR SITTIN HERE SAYIN BITE YOUR ASS AND YEA IT'S ON THERE BUT THE WAY YOURS LOOKS AND THEY WAY IT LOOKS WHEN IT'S MOUNTED PROPERLY IS A BIG DIFFERENCE. YOURS LOOKS LIKE ASS. YOU PROLLY WERENT EVEN IN THE ISR SCENE SO B4 YOU GO AND GET BIG NUTS ABOUT YOUR 1ST FORCED INDUCTION CAR DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND THEN COME HOLLA AT ME........
 
he didn't engineer the product, and obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. if you go do a search for universal turbo parts, bov's will come up. any f/i car (even supercharged, believe it or not) can run a greddy type s. if he told you it can't be done, just turn around and say ok buddy. anyone that tells you something like this needs to be re-educated about their product and it's applications.
