Blasphemy!!! Making the MS3 a more 'cozy' car

A few people may not bare to read this. A few may relate. Either way, here it comes!

I've owned my MS3 a few years now, roughly 60k miles on it. LOVE IT! The only modifications I've done are Koni Sport Adjustables, cut-out of the stock air box & K&N panel filter, and Kosei KZ-V 18x7 wheels with summer tires / OE wheels with snow tires.

The ride, even on the softest Koni settings, is a bit harsher than I expected on the stock suspension (should have gone with the FSD's). The 7" wide tires just don't cut it for keeping traction to the pavement at WOT. Everything else is just plain splendid.

My suspension thought leading into next year is to downsize to a 17" wheel with a taller and wider rubber, and possibly move to a RE960 A/S or the like. My power thought is to cap the boost slightly lower than the factory and potentially get a PG rework for the more effective powerband.

My goal would be to 'smooth' out my ride more, in terms of suspension and power. Soften the highway commute and cap the power at a sane, yet fun levels (read as no instant smokey tires at WOT and no instant boost cut/dsc engagement at WOT).

Thoughts & suggestions?

note: the MS3 is my daily driver and my Miata is the performance money pit.

Sell the Yellow's, get the 4045 FSD's. No need change the wheel tire combo as you should enjoy the ride more with the FSD's (Still waiting for FFF full review of the 4045's). For power get a HT tuner. Full boost in 1st and 2nd gear, safe power and softer suspension and your out less than 1K (net after yellow's are sold) SAve the money you would have used for a PG rework for the MS3 and put it into a turbo for the Miata.

Done.

Tires do help. I am on the stock suspension riding on the 17" MSP Racing Harts with a 235-45-17 tires. Made a difference in ride comfort.

Personally, I can't stand how soft the suspension is. I WANT it to be more firm. Especially under hard acceleration.

I agree with Domino that under hard acceleration, I love firm suspension but for everyday driving it gets old. Quick. I DD my Speed as well, and roads here are AWFUL... Last night I felt like I was on a really bad rollercoaster. I peronsally would look into different suspension and possibly new tires, I would't cap power.

FSD's have a trick valve that allow them to handle a ride range of driving environments. Tires will just mask the issue (as opposed to resolving it).
