well, for a while now my car has just been sitting in my driveway because of the engine problems (it's getting fixed in 2 weeks). so i thought i'd show it a littel love and do something to it. in total it ttok me about 3 hours, but it think it was worth it.

nice, and everybody seems to enjoy the Matte/oven paint look.
i did it with my first pair of headlights, but i dint like it, so i re did it and made it semi gloss. and i prefer this over the oven paint.
but it looks nice tho.
first time took me 3hrs too.

Sp, um, does thsi mean your light at night is even crappier now? Their pretty lousy to begin with.

When "cosmetic" changes begin to impair practical things, that just dosn't make sense to me...?

Semi-gloss paint does look more professional, and looks like a stock plastic piece, rather than a home-job.

The "Chrome" finish affects the light output in little to no way at all, the reflector is the where the light is reflected and spread across the road, so this mod doesn't affect the spread in any way. It is standard on Canadian models and they have fine output from the factory.

and its funny how, canadian p5 owners are wanting the chrome finish, while us owners want the black-out finish.

we should just have a universal swap. everyone send there headlights to one location, and the US owners will get the blacked out ones, and the Canadians can get the chrome ones! works out perfectly

hahaha as soon as those rota's come in, i'll be sure to shooot ya a PM, but i would need UR wheels so i have spares for winter. ^_^

really? i am canadian and anyone i know from toprotege.com would rather the black housings. just as many of us "black out" our chrome housings. i think the chrome looks ridiculous personally.

edit: wow just realised i've never actually posted on this forum before. as mentioned, i'm near toronto and frequent toprotege.com. i am on here a lot but obviously don't post much. hi!

hahaha ur one of the first that ive seen that likes the black housings.
theres been many posts/members who were wanting to buy chrome finishes cause they said the chrome looked nicer.

thanks everyone

i'm not worried about it even if it does cut down the light a little. i've got HID's that are quite bright.

and as for the semi gloss paint. i agree it looks better, but i know my HID's get kinda hot and i wasn't sure about just how hot they get. so i decided to go with the grille paint. i also thought about the engine paint, but i couldn't find it in semi gloss. i'm actually thinking that i might color match them when i paint my car next summer, but i dont know how it will look.
