hey, my car is up for motor work and well its held up i've been doing some small appearance work, i've been wondering how my 03.5 titanium msp well look with blacked out badges?
does anyone have pics of them done on that color? and if you think i should black them out, keep in mind ill just do it myself and paint them, should i black them out with flat black or gloss? feed back guys!! thanks

they are gloss. dont mind the dirty car...

Mine looks EXACTLY like yours! same "mazdaspeed" badge and all, how did you go about filling the holes under the mazdaspeed badge?

Some little nylon plugs. I sanded the heads till they were real thin. Then sprayed the end with black and put them in. It really was just a temp patch. Gonna redo it here soon

Nice gotcha, mine isnt as up to par as yours is and i dont want to say what i did for my temp fix now! But i will say its held up now for 2 years.

thank you for the pics looks great, deffantly going to do mine now, i dont have that mazdaspeed badge i got the solid one, thanks again for the pics, and what did you use to stick the badges back on after you popped them off?

lol i got a blacked out familia badge except everytime i wash the car the paint chips off

i just blacked mine out, and the reason it chips when you wash it is becasue you didnt sand it well enough or clear coat it

If you spray a coat or two of primer the paint will stick much better and will most likely not chip off. I had the same issue but once primed they are still holding strong after probably 20 or so washes.

i have my mazda logo on the trunk in black (protege & mazdaspeed removed, pending i can figure out how to fill the holes and make it look clean)

primer is def not necessary... i sanded it down (actually used a file), then sprayed it with two coats of high temp black (caliper) paint, followed by a very very light coat (held the can super far away as i sprayed) of clear. it's been on there for 6+ months now and has held up fine against the brutal snow/ice/rain/washes/everything... and trust me, here in PA the weather was pretty brutal this winter i was surprised it held up so well.

Mine has held since last may. We just sanded it down and primered it and then sprayed the black. It was all wally world cheap stuff. I don't think we cleared it either. Is recommend getting some regular protege Mazda emblem an protege emblem, since the msp ones are the only ones that came in satin silver. I wish is have done that. And my mazdaspeed emblem is one off a speed6

The person before me removed the emblems and put these bullet looking things that look terrible. I don't know what to do to fill the holes and remove them.... I was thinking about buying the emblems but removing them might look good as well.
