Mazda Protege 02
So Back in February I was in a car accident that totaled my '02 Protege which lead me to a part out of aftermarket parts by the insurance company and made out with a built so far what you see. A lot has happened already with this miata but has come along way from the beginning to what I call the start of a beautiful thing. I really enjoy miata's now and wish to convert all of you fs-de drivers lol

I bought the mazda speed rims from Josh and thank you josh because i still owe you so much for a great deal and will make up for your generosity after your purchase of your very own NA.

I added the side skirts, mudflaps, 10 ae front bumper with fogs painted black, voodoo shift knob, mazda speed door sills, 01 gauge cluster, 01 ac module to match the amber lighting. Autokonexion version 1 carbon fiber trunk

I just bought the hard top for my car monday for 700 bucks and is in great condition. I am currently looking to buy some suspension for the car and staying away from Ricelands (sorry those of you) but looking more into Tein's Super Street or BC's

Congrats on the Miata!

As for the suspension, I highly recommend the BC's. I've had mine for a couple years and have been very pleased.

theres a group buy that ends today for them on roadsterdrift for 945 but i spent the money on a hard top

Today I replaced the cat with a hi flow because i threw a code. When the shop took out the bad cat, it was hollowed out and the pieces are now floating around in the muffler :(

Time for a new muffler. What brand is sufficient for turbo and what size piping?

I have a code p0455 which is a large evap emissions leak. Possibilities consist of gas cap, solenoid, default cannister, evap lines.

I already changed the egr valve and boost sensor for the solenoid. I also got a new cat thinking it was going to fix it too but apparently didn't.

I purchased a new oem from mazda gas cap to eliminate the cheapest item to fix it but if not that what else? Ideas?

Glasspacks sound cool, even after they burn in a little. Can't stand Flowmasters. When I get some extra money I'm going to get rid of the pair that came on my car and probably replace them with a stock type muffler.

I bought my garage vary nb 1 lip this morning from tetsuya garage. I won't be getting it in time for the tfmmc summer meet as some slowtege's are showing up but within the next couple weeks. I am going to have it painted brilliant black as the rest of the car after i get some quotes. Here are some pics of what the lip looks like

i got the 1.89 screws from mazda to close the latches on my hard top in the rear. i had other screws temp. in there sticking out because they were to long. I also purchased a brand new gas cap for 21.00 for the p0445 code and crossing my fingers that it clears it. If not i am hearing a strange small winding up sound whenever i accelerate and when i push the clutch in goes away.

1st is the blown motor i blew the day i bought it lol so the owner payed half for the motor which i paid 400 and installed it for me and worked fine. Just needed to put in the correct injectors in because i am led to believe they were supra injectors with green tops.

I replaced them with stock red ones:

car ran fine after that

I did find that the air flow was constricted with duck tape the that the idle would be somewhat natural but once i took it off the idle would flunctuate up and down wildly. Dont know what he did to the car but lets just say it was s***.

After 3 week nightmare and I got the car back in working order i put my menfis coaxil speakers in the front and these bad boys in the back...

John, Matt, and I took the angle grinder and made a circle with a sharpie using the cardboard piece holding the tweeters in the box and cut an X to fold down the rubber mat and the carpet inside. We then cut holes in the back metal panel underneath both carpet and mat so that the magnet can rest in the hole of the panel and the speaker is flush with on top. I installed John's cd player because the stock didn't work.

this is what my bumper looked like before and after i installed the 10 ae foglight bumper that was originally blue but now brillant black

New Bumper I have the fogs but waiting on urinalcake from cr.net to take his aftermarket bumper off to remove the hardware, pigtails, and the cabin switch for me.

When installing the new bumper i discovered two broken tabs in the same place on the headlights. It didnt really bother me because i am planing on buying new headlights or used that are crystal clear to do a projector retrofit with Tylor and paint the insides a ultra high flat black or i haven't decided to clear coat the lense a tad.

Oh yeah I replaced both belts and the acces. belt kept popping on me and it was getting to the point where i was about to buy stocks in the company of gator backs. well i finally got it loose enough to not pop and squeals a bit.

I also replaced the a/c compressor and bought the unit with a 6month warranty from LKQ and installed it with John.

ty, i am all out of breath anything else lol

Today at the meet i changed my motor oil, diff oil with Royal Purple, and sprayed carb cleaner on the lines for any cracks causing my CEL. Found nothing but I did have my intake pipe a little loose on the throttle body. I am skeptical that isn't the cause but I sure do hope i goofed and is.

I am getting more miles in this tank of gas because I am at 230 miles and still have a quarter tank left. So Fingers crossed >.<

I have the next two days off so Im cleaning the manifold with carb cleaner and a wire brush. Pics

just pulled it off now
