Black MSP vs Orange MSP........

I was all ready to wait for a orange MSP, but
when I saw the Black MSP I loved it too.
I started thinking about getting lots of attention
with the orange one & between racers & cops
seeing me as eye candy, black was the way to go
for me. I had RSX Type S & I had alot of racers after
me & with my son in the car most of the time, there
was no way I would sudmit to that.
So for me as much as I love the orange MSP,
I'm very happy & satisfied that I went with
black.

How do you guys with black MSP's feel?
Even the guys with orange ones, are you
getting unwanted attention?

For me, there was only one choice: Black Mica

At 48, I guess I'm more conservative. The Orange Mica is nice, but it isn't me.

Cheers!

(no; I don't drink and drive, but I do love good beer, and I am a Home Brewer)

i get enough attention in trhe black as it is. i cant imaging having orange. even granma would want to race me then, i bet. :D

dont own a msp, but i think black makes any car look 10 times better than it really is..... but i do like the orange too...

i went with black for my P5, and everyone says it looks a lot sportier than the other colors, with respect to the silver... espescialli since i got all my windows lightly tinted.. it looks more classy than getting the back limo tint and leaving the front 2....

anyways, black is the best! espescially Mazda's mica.. i notice up close it tends to sparkle.

I agree Zio, Black makes any car look really freaking hot. Well as long as you keep it clean anyways. It's also a b**** to keep clean so that's probably why I wouldn't get a black car. Silver is probably my second fav then the Laser Blue :).

For me I will never own a car that is not black. The way they look when polished and waxed is unmatched in any other color. also I think that black cars even trucks look much more sophisticated than any other color yuo could put on. I dont know it has its problems staying clean but that is also part of the fun of owning a car cleaning it and then showing it off. Remember, when henery ford first mass produced the modle t. what color were they?

After about 5 minutes of driving in dpmmsp's orange car, a couple guys in a Honda Civic with a fart can wanted to race us, revving it up at a stoplight to goad us into something. Of course, since it wasn't my car, we didn't race them, but even short shifting at 3500 RPM we were keeping up fine to the Civic who was thrashing his engine to within an inch of its life. :)
I imagine if I settle on getting the orange, that would happen a lot. But I'm not sure I could always excercise the self restraint to not race...
Then again, the titanium 2003.5 car which is my other choice (we don't get black in Canada) has a rear spoiler that screams "RACE ME!" about as loud as the orange paint does, so I doubt I'd be better off.

You could get them in any colour you wanted, as long as it was black. :)

Grimace: Buy the MAZDASPEED! Nothing comes close. Now that I have the Subwoofer 'on', I'm having an even harder time of actually getting out of the car and coming into the office in the morning.

I wonder how many other middle class 48 year olds, have the fun that I have!!! Married 15 years to an incredible lady, a good job, etc.... And now that I have Play Station 2 with Gran Turismo 3 w/ cordless controllers - it's a damned wonder I can even get to sleep at night!!! ROFLMAO!!!! Not to mention, my wife is one hell of a good GT3 driver!!?? No kidding! She loves that game, especially the Rally racing portion.

(mspb) (spank) Don't make me spank your silly ass - buy the MAZDASPEED!!!

Absolutely no question in my mind that I am buying the Mazdaspeed. Dont' worry about that. The decision is down to titanium grey or spicey orange.
At one point I thought about getting an RX-8, but the payments would kill me. If I get an MSP, in a year or two I can supplement it with a used 1st or 2nd gen. Miata for when I need my RWD ya-yas. I love convertibles, the the Miata is one HELL of a car.

Titanium (my opinion), and yes; I too like the Miatas. However at 6'4", it's a bit tight for me.

Cheers!! (drinks) (mspb)

I like the black , and ive been up close and personal with one, but It wasnt for me. I knew right off the bat which color I wanted. Also, My mom has a black car, and no matter how many times she washes it, its still dirty. You know, for a orange car im not getting as much attention in it as some would think, even from the protege community. Ive been by many fixed up P5's and havent been given a second look. There are two kinds of people who will check out the orange MSP. People who are looking at it because of the color , and people who know what it is. And odly enough , the majority of people who have asked me about it, dont even know what it is, and have NEVER heard of it. Ive had two or three people that start out the conversation with "Hey, nice Subaru"

LoL, so true!

I have a black Spec V and everyone wants to race me, could just be the way I egg them on though.. Truthfully I never wanted a black car until I saw how it looked all cleaned up. I've always had a white car and loved how easy it was to keep clean. But when I look at the way it shines after a good waxing it's all worth it.....until I see the door dings!!

I'll race any Orange car I see =)

Spicey, thats really interesting!
That is exactly what I want. I don't want many people to know about the car. I don't want much attention. Sounds perfect.
