Big Brakes for CHEAP!

so your telling me just by doin the bracket and caliber and the rotors off those cars will fit our proteges

what about EVO brakes...has anybody tried fitting their brembos on our cars? that'd be hot...

Gotta hand it to Mazda on this one. Using the same bolt location, size, and thread pitch on pretty much ALL their cars is really great. I'm definitely upgrading next time I need calipers.

I have this weird post-apocalyptic dream of trying to find parts in junk yards. Good to know we have lots to choose from for brakes ;)

Weights:

MSP Caliper: 10#
MSP Rotor: 14#

MS6 Caliper: 11#
MS6 Rotor: 21#

8#s per corner. Pads are negligible. Clearance is tight on some 17's due to design of the drop center/barrel.

The MS6 brakes feel great. The customer, viralphrame, will upgrade to a 929 master cylinder in the future.

Julian, if you find this... you are a terrible person :)

(shady)

the only negative I could possibly get out of the new setup is that the steering feels a little heavier at a dead stop

it's almost nil at speed

Read theough the pages again. I would guess so, but it would still be great if anyone could verify that the Mazda 6 MPS (EDM MS6) would fit the MSP?

the fronts do, but not the rears. stock MSP rears (11") are more than adequate for the car

Nice pictures, thanks. Do you know if this setup is strictly for 17" or bigger wheels or does 16" also fit?

I assume the MS6 rears also will not fit (?) and why not?

hans olav,

if you check post #1, it'll tell you which fronts fit which size wheels..

as for the rears, they will bolt up HOWEVER, they will not mate to the ebrake cable. I'm going to attempt to make it work for my lx.
