Bezzle and Center Console Suggestions Request

:
2016 CX-5
When I bought my P5, the center console and bezel had some scatches. Since the silver is on black plastic, they are pretty obvious. I'm looking for suggestions on how to address this. It seems I have four options:

1) paint em. I was sincerely thinking about this, but I've read alot of posts of people saying they regretted doing this. Is this because it didn't hold up? Improper prep? Bad color choice?

2) Wait for ones to appear on FS group. This doesn't seem to happen very often and when it does, they seem to get scoffed up pretty quickly.

3) Live with the scratches and accept it's not a new car. (although I wish she was)

4) Purchase "new" ones. On online mazda parts, they list a silver bezel (for $100), but no silver center console.

Thoughts?

Regards,
Bill

I'm seriously considering painting mine as well. Don't see why it wouldn't hold up as good as the original at least if you prep it well. Like hell I'll buy a new one or live with scratches hahaha. My 2 pennies..

Have you done the vinyl? Do you have any pics? The little bit of searching has been negative, but I've never messed or seen it done so can't judge.

I had mine done in brushed aluminum and carbon fiber

That is vinyl wrapped?? Looks really nice! Some very skilled work there!

Edit- When you suggested vinyl wrap, I immediately thought of thick upholstery vinyl. The more I think about it- this must be some sort of shrink wrap type of vinyl? How would "normal" vinyl get into all those contours and what not- specifically around the heater controls...

Can you elaborate on this process? Thanks!

Fake CF and aluminum FTL.
It does look pretty good though.

That does look good. Did you do it yourself? Was it from a P5 kit? What source?

I had it done by a shop, but I am going to re-do the cf myself on a black bezel. It is just raw vinyl (like vinyl decals, but thicker) that is cut, stretched, and heated to the contours.

Here are the sites I was looking at to get more material:
