(mswerd) I think 3k even to 4k is ok, the main thing is just hardly giving it any throttle(read "no fun"). Keeping the revs too low can actually be inefficient too since there is no power down there, and you are just throwing a bunch of fuel around when you stomp it and it goes nowhere. I wonder if it would be possible to quantify fuel efficiency for a car in a graph, based on throttle position and rpm maybe (would need to be a 3d graph I guess). You would probably have to calculate crap from fuel maps and dyno info or something. Then you could figure out some optimal driving habits, like what rpms are the best, etc. But then again, that would probably be information overkill.Mike R said:I tried that, the thing is the load increases on the engine, and it uses more gas.
