Best TIP for MSCAI?

I have narrowed it down to either the COBB or PG turbo inlet pipe to mate with MSCAI, just wondering for those who have a MSCAI, what TIP did you decide to get and why? Let me know. Thanks

I had the PG with the MSCAI, and it was pretty much a perfect fit. I have the ATP tip now and it doesn't fit nearly as well so I'm going to do a custom SRI.

Also, has anyone run the Corksport TIP? I saw that it was $89 bucks and it looked pretty decent.

I run the corksport TIP.. I like it.. Pretty decent fit no rubbing. Made the car louder when you get on it you can hear it. But then again I put on there SRI and there SRI cold air box too

I would run the corksport or pg inlet. The metal CAI's don't fit very well with the silicone cpe / cobb inlets.

This is why:
The mouth (where the CAI meets inlet) of the CPE / COBB inlets are very large to accomodate large intakes. Why they did that? I have no idea. Its not like anyone with a speed 3/6 is running a 4 inch intake. Thus they supply this metal coupler that is about 3-4 inches long. Basically a cone that connects the two. It doesn't fit very well. I spent about an hour messing around trying to make it fit. Im sure it could work but its just not a good setup. Not to mention because of the coupler length my intake was moved slightly. This caused the bracket to not line up with the bolt that attaches it to the frame of the car. It was just a big pain in the rear.

I returned it and bought the PG inlet which fit perfectly / easier to install. So unless you have the corresponding brand CAI/Inlet then I think pg or corksport is your best bet.

Thanks for the info. Any reason you selected the PG TIP over the Corksport TIP?

I still maintain that the Cobb inlet is the way to go. CP-e's is a nice part, but best suited for their intakes. The PG isn't as nice from what I've seen.

OP, you got a PM.

steve the cobb and the cpe is the same thing. Both silicone with same shape and diameter. Same metal coupler.

I chose pg over corksport because the corksport one wasn't out yet.

They're close, but not quite. The CP-e has a bigger inlet that connects to your intake side, the Cobb does not.

The PG pipe will work with a CAI correct? I believe they are all 3" pipe....

Works great with my injen CAI. The all metal piping sounds cool too.

Ya i have the Fujita so i was expecting it to work...I already bought it and am installing it tonight, so i guess that was a little late to ask if it will work! Lol.

MS/ATP on my set up its 3" aluminum straight through. Sounds super sick!! Now I'm runnin silicone.. Works good but, no real swoosh..

Let's not get ricer and talk about the sound of it...

OP, I'll let you take a look at my setup which worked 100% flawless with the MSCAI when we meet up.

performance is my main issue.. but, the sound this set up makes is VERY important to alot of people.. and the set ups change the sounds ALOT and not everyone wants a huge burst type sound.. and some people do.. it would be nice to have a library of the sounds of each set up??

Performance is identical regardless of material. There might be a slight (<5 deg.) difference in operating temps between the metal and silicone pipes, but the difference is negligible.

As for a sound library, that would be called YouTube. Silicone is quieter than metal, the wall thickness is much greater with a silicone pipe (for obvious reasons).

I meant a more detailed type sound library since theres so many options on this car.. out here in CA weve gotta a local mazda club and with our MS6s no two are alike!! thats about 12 completely different intake/inlet/IC/BOV/exhaust set ups.. and theyre always changing.. so theres alot of sounds out there. and you tube sucks for sound quality and volume..

I wanna be fast, but i dont wanna sound like garbage so sound does matter some also. Loud is fine as long as it doesnt sound like garbage.... Its raing like crazy here now so i cant do my install! I have a 91 integra in my garage takin up that space!
