Best suspension to go with?

Ive read alot of good things about Eibach. And also good things about Spool, but i believe those are still backordered.

Is everyone just throwing on some aftermarket springs onto the factory shocks/struts? In my previous experiances, this was not such a good road to go down. 15,000 miles later youve got blown shocks/struts and a terrible ride quality.

Does anyone know if H&R makes a cupkit for our cars? Im looking for a very aggressive drop, but nothing that makes me worry about going over speed bumps.

I plan to have some Rota SubZeros soon so im looking for something that will help fill the wheel wells. I looked through A TON of pictures and saw alot of nice rides with suspension/wheel setups, but nothing that blew me away.

My budget for wheels is in the area of $1100 and suspension in the $500 area.

Any ideas or reccomendations? Pics and links to websites would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance!

Drew, IF you are going to to with an AGGRESSIVE suspension mod...you are going to need more money. $500 won't do it. To do it 100% right and all the way....you will need to go one of two routes. SPRINGS/STRUTS/SWAYBARS or with GOOD QUALITY COILOVERS.

For the Spring route.....the springs will run you around $200 depending on the brand you get. then you will either need the Mazdaspeed Struts or the ones from the MP3/Mazdaspeed Pro, either way...that will run you between $550 and $700, then you will need to upgrade to the bigger swaybars....theres another frew hundred....then the labor if you don't do the work yourself and then an alignment after its all together. so there is as much as about $1200.

for the GOOD QUALITY COILOVERS....you are looking at around $1800 for a set.

Take your pick.

Swaybars probobly wont be required since i wont be autocrossing or racing the car. I just simply dont want a half assed suspension.

So if i DO go with Eibach Springs, cant i just go with some Bilsteins or Koni Yellows for the shock/strut setup? If theres even an application for them lol

On my VW, for $550 you could buy the H&R Cupkit which came with shocks/struts/ and H&R Race springs for a VERY descent setup.

Noone offers a setup like that?

Sorry...but currently there are very few options for aftermarket struts for our cars....the Mazdaspeed ones which you can get from Corksport.....or the ones that came on the MP3 and not the MSP. Thats pretty much it. HOWEVER....if you can or do find another sturt that is designed to be used with performance springs....PLEASE come here and let everyone know.

and certainly the sway bars would not be REQUIRED....so you are still looking at about $700-$900 bucks with YOU doing all the labor.
