Hey guys sorry im new here....I come from the honda game and I had an m3 as well but now i have a 03.5 MSP and was wondering what are the BEST spark plugs for the car....i run 9.5lbs tuned... but want to do new plugs...wires....and retune at 12lbs

Theres a spark plug thread somewhere on here with all the info.

Off the top of my head the Denso IK22's are the iridiums , one step colder than stock. Don't know if that's enough for 12psi though.

the IK22s are definately good for 12psi however even with a good tune/supporting mods, the stock internals are only known to run 10psi reliably (before popping the motor).

Denso IK22 are extended reach step colder iridiums. Also highly recommended is the NGK equivalent (dotn know the code off the top of my head... denso is easier to remember).

just dont use bosch, but that goes without saying...

NGK V-Power ZFR7F or NGK Iridium BKR7EIX-11. These are one heat range colder than stock.

well thank you for your recomdation's and so the stock internals are only known for running 10psi safely ? hmm i thought i heard about a guy on this forum running 14lbs since 1,800 miles and now has 23K on it and runs mint maybe im mistaken but yeah is it 10?
ill do that if i have too just anything more then the 9 now...i put down 251 at 9 and wanted some more

I switched from the ZFR6F-11 to ZFR7F-11 today.. seems to run the same, though the power is more.. smooth? I used to get this sudden kick of power at 5500 RPMs in 2nd gear, and I haven't had that happen yet with the 7s.

if you look around, you'll see that its basically a crapshoot with the motors. If you've got the pockets, by all means see if you're one of the lucky people who seems to have a good healthy motor.... if you don't have the $$, you'll probably want to stick around 10.

ok thank you...umm i have 21,000 miles and i bought it off my brother how had it for 1600 miles in his possesion and he is the biggest anal asshole you'll ever meet and he babied the crap out of it even when he raced i toldhim he was a pussy so between us too yeah we're anal so its all good there and the kid before us put a lot of money into it and he was really anal he even tilted the exhaust down a little to avoid getting fumeson the bumper lol so idk you think i should go in between and tune at 11?

oh hey kansei i get that same feeling at 5500 almost a hesitation adn then a go at those rpm's do you feel the same power but smoother or does it feel less because your not getting the burst?

I'm not sure really.. I'll have to do more testing next time I drive the car. It wouldn't always do that boost at 5500rpms, but usually it would? I think that is the RPM that the variable length intake runners switch to the other length, but I'm not positive.. and in that case, why doesn't it always feel that way?
