best Mufflers for 1.6 pro's

Get the Racing Beat. Sounds awesome on the 1.6, it's what I have. Since it wasn't made to bolt up to the 1.6 stock exhaust, I had to take it to the exhaust shop. They cut and welded the end, everything else bolts on with no other modifications needed. IMO, it's the best looking one you're going to find.

Hi! Is that JDM rear lights? Very nice.

i have a 99 protege LX, 1.6L, and im looking to get a new muffler. I want it to sound better. obviously it wont sound greatttt but i was wondering which mufflers anyone has used, keep in mind my engine is still stock. i dont want it to be like.. really annoying sounding, and like toooo ricey cause its still stock and it would just be ridiculous, so if anyone has an experiences with mufflers and could give me a good suggestion.... thanks.
if you want sound a cai sounds nice up front but of course it has a different tone compared to a muffler.

I'm running a Hayame catback exhaust that was designed for an MP3 but it bolted right up to my stock pipe right after the cat. It's about 2 1/4" inner diameter. It doesn't sound annoying like some cars and it's got a nice rumble to it.

ok some kind of exhaust will be my next mod. can someone point me to a place to buy one.. idk if i want a full exhaust, or just a muffler... probably just a muffler.. cheaper.. im on a tight budget... is getting the full setup really worth it?

yea i think im just gunna go with a muffler.. for now.. i know someone who welds so i should be able to get it on for not toomuch.

The Mazdaspeed axle back is nice. It has a nice deep tone and doesn't sound like one of those fart can mufflers.

where can i buy one.. and how much are they? and how much modification has to be done to it for it to fit my car
