Best mod under $300

Good price! Where did you purchase them both from?

I got 'em direct from one of the SU guys. They had a posting on [cough-cough] another forum [/cough-cough]

Oh yeah... best mod?
Driver mod. Seat time and a day or weekend at a trackday school or autocross camp.

Everyone knows if you want cheap power a manual boost controller is where it's at.:D

Not the safest thing to do but the best results.

What's wrong with the mbc and BCD? I've had my setup from 4 months without a single issue. No smoking turbo no oil in my intercooler nothing.

anytime you increase the boost of the car without supporting mods there is a risk of causing engine damage. That is not saying that there will be problems, but it is a risk

Do you care about your warranty? If so, don't get a boost controller. Just go with the Cobb SRI. Much better to just wait for the Cobb Accessport than a boost controller. The Accessport will void your warranty too, but it is much more stealth and you can set it to stock mode when you bring the car in for maintenance. Engine maps are the way to go. Then again I guess you could just take the boost controller off. Why did I post again?

As the title states, what would you consider the best mod you've made for under $300 for a mazda3, not ms3. I've got a little extra cash, and have already put on an SRI.

OK well too much covered already to prune, so lets start this over....have at it people

Nothing is wrong with it. That's why I said it's the best mod for the money. But there is a risk with it more so than if you put on an sri for instance.

yea seriously guys, i read some of ur posts and laughed. check the forum section ur posting under...cant u get a catback for about 300? u may have to spend a bit more but...

I'd go for a catback too... You can get a custom-bent one if you source your own muffler for around $150 from any exhaust shop. It won't be shiny or anything, but it'll do the job JUST as well for half the price. If people are looking at your exhaust and noticing how shiny it ISN'T somehow I think the exhaust is the least of your problems...

Agreed! It's nice to SAY you have polished exhaust, but in the end, who cares...
