Best HP Gains not including Turbo?

Start saving your pennies. Cause as soon as you start to mod the motor for more, it isn't gonna stop! lol.

^^TRUE!! lol

im in highschool, a senior this year,
and started with intake and exhaust and now look at my sig

s*** load of money and working 40hours a week all summer
sucks man but its worth it in the long run

You're a senior this year with that mods list? Very well done sir!

why thank you! it helps that i installed most of the mods myself too
i think the only thing i didnt install was my clutch, cuz i have no idea how to do that lol

still owe my mom 300 bucks but besides that, i bought everything myself
so if i can do it, u should definitely be able to

As mentioned before, modding is fun but becomes addicting! seems like I put a part on and I'm all excited for the first couple days and then it doesn't seem like much so I'm back to shopping for more. I'm running mp3 ecu, intake, header, exhaust, eibach pro kit springs, and a very short, short shifter. yes it has a lot more spunk than stock...but i'm still not have and now i have mods (see my sig) that i have acquired and getting more technical! i'm in college and my budget is low, so i save money and wait for really good deals! right now i'm doing the NA thing, and later i'm going turbo. but once you go turbo you have to apply more maintenance and right now i don't have the funds if something was to go wrong turbo wise!

I meant the parts not ever being shipped to you when I said not getting what you pay for. I read that a couple of people had been waiting like 6 months and still didnt have their turbo setup. If you can manage to stay off the pedal on the right shouldnt you experience better mpg on a turbo setup?

you will loose mpg on a turbo application
you cant get up to speed very quickly at less than quarter throttle, and if you go over quarter throttly you will get into boost

once boost kicks in you are basically cramming a crapload of air into the motor, and well...you need to compensate for that much more air with even more fuel, more boost means more fuel...

that being said, I still have no problem getting 25mpg with some mashing here and there

as for those who have spent months without getting their turbo setup, that is for a reason: they want it done right the first time when they install it...so they wait months and months to get all the parts they need at the best price they can

personally, Ive been waiting 10 months to drop in my t3/t4 kit, but only because I have been basically piecing it together from scratch rather than buying a kit....if you want to get a stock setup, you can have all the parts you need in a month easily

27 this week (yes) (combined!)...with some mashing here and there, on an auto...which traditional sucks more gas anyway!

the most Ive gotten is 28
if I mash it everywhere (which I tend to do lol) I get about 18-20...

You can piece together a turbo kit for about 1k. I have spent about 900 so far and all I need is a atp waste gate and small stuff like gaskets and bolts/nuts. And it can be very reliable if you take your time and do everything right. Then take care of everything and be smart about it. Like the little small things like letting your turbo cool off after a hard run and before you turn it off.

My friend (J naoto) actually gets a lot better gas millage since he boosted and 5spd swap on his sedan. You just have to try and stay out of the high rpms and pedal to the floor haha.

yes! i use to be lucky to get over 300 on a tank when i was auto, but now i can get over 400 easily even if i get on it a lot. 5 speed and boost ftw!

He gets better mileage then me and I am still N/a :(

That will change in a few weeks though!! Muahhahaa

Oh and

Get out of this thread, you don't have a wagon (bang) (direct)

So what would the stock msp part list to add turbo to a p5 since I could piece it together for 1k?

All you really need is

Turbo (duh)
Turbo mani
j pipe (you can use your stock one)
s pipe
msp ecu
Oil and coolant lines
front mount/side mount setup
wastegate and bov/bpv

and other small things like

Gaskets
bolts/nuts just incase
oil and antifreeze
and getting a slim fan helps a lot also

If anybody sees anything I am missing the let me know, I am really tired haha

No

You only need the stock msp radiator and stuff if you are using the stock plastic heat soaking smic

You can use the stock p5 ac fan and radiator if you are using a front mount. It is also a better choice then wasting money on a msp smic. The reason you need a slim line is because you prob wont be able to use the puller fan or whatever with the turbo there. But with a slim line it fits fine and if you live in a hot place, I would not recommend going without the fan haha Unless you like overheating when your stuck in traffic or something
