Can anyone give me some ideas as to what the best hitch would be for my 07 CX-9 GT? I have a 5x8 trailer from Lowes to move small things around, lumber and such, nothing heavy. The trailer is rated for 2000 lbs. Thanks for your help.

oem is 357 on amazon.

or 369 oem from this site:

Just make sure you get a class 2 hitch.

One of the benefits of the oem Mazda hitch is that it actually sits inside the lower bumper cover, protecting it against corrosion & rust more-so than aftermarket hitches which sit completely below the bumper.

HERE IS THE BEST WAY TO GET AN OEM HITCH FOR 100 BUCKS. CAR-PART.COM
It looks like there are a few places in the country that have one in their yard. Course it may have some rust, just call them and ask about it.

It seems every aftermarket brand wants to sell class iii hitches, which is ok as long as you don't tow more than 3500lbs which the cx-9 is rated for, but a 2 inch class iii hitch on a cx-9 stands out like a sore thumb, in my opinion.

Good Info...this will be my next mod probably :).

I'll go with OEM class ii so it's more hidden.

yeah I think that would really help, anything similar to a spray on bed liner material, or even clear coat the hitch. It just comes with flat black paint over steel, no clear or anything.

Thanks for the info. When I order ours up, I'll pick up a can of Spray Plasti Dip for the hitch then too. I have this stuff on my grills on my G8 for 2 yrs now to black out the Chrome, and it's awesome. Not one chip in it, and it's taken a winter and car wash beatings!
