Hey!

My Mazda 2 didn't come with fog lights and I'm looking for some and I've found some on Ebay!

I wanted to know if anyone else has installed their own fog lights? I'm trying to buy something affordable and these are unbelievably cheap.. Idk what "demio" means.

Are these fog lights good?

They are so cheap.. so I was wondering if they are terrible or something? I Don't want to go cheap if it's going to end up costing me more in the end.. or looking crappy.

Btw are fog lights difficult to install?

Hi Josh,

Need a bit more info. What are you looking for in the fog lights? Performance in fog or snow? Aesthetics? More light overall? Long distance lighting?

It'll help with the response.

I've complained about the OEM fogs because they simply don't work well as fog lights. The responses were mixed. " What do you expect?" "Fog lights don't put out much light you know, etc, etc." Well, I expected good fog lights- a broad low beam with a sharp cut off like the Bosch, Marchal's, and Lucas I've owned over the years. The OEM's don't do that, which, at the price, is ridiculous.

Others have replaced their fogs with HID's. IMHO, HID's are an extremely bright light which doesn't lend itself to functioning as a fog light. They are more of a driving light.

So,,,,,, whatchya looking for?

BTW, the ones in the Ebay link appear to be for other than the US market nose. I have no way of telling, but installation MAY be extremely difficult.

I'm getting fog lights purely for the appearance, I'm not too concerned with appearance (I don't night drive much) I just don't want my car to look base model.

Those aren't the right ones for our US bumpers.

This is the shape you need:

When you take your covers out, fair warning: there's more tabs holding them in than you'd think lol!

FWIW though, stock foglights are pretty much useless. They throw no light :/ But they are adjustable up/down, I never tried adjusting.

Well thanks for saving me from making a big mistake! So you're positive that the three you listed will work with the US bumpers? I have sport edition 2011 Mazda 2. And yeah, I want it mostly for looks not performance.

Is it hard to install the switch? I don't know what the switch is.. I'm going to have a fried help me out, but it appears like it's not too difficult.

Also, whats the big difference between the $200 and $100?

I'm 99.9% positive, I've got mine completely out of the front bumper currently and they look exactly the same. I'm not sure on the switch, just need to find a place to put it I guess (My 2 came with fogs so my switch is OEM)

Not sure what the price difference is about honestly haha I just searched and looked for the right shape foglight housing/cover for you :)

yeah I meant I just want them for looks not for functionality, sorry about the confusion! I recently got the billet shorty short antenna which is sweet, and I'm installing the boomerang arm rest this weekend!

Back to the foglights though... by "switch" is that a switch that turns the fog lights on or what the heck is it? Do I have to wire the fog lights or anything, or do I just flip a switch to turn them on manually?

And would the 100$ ones work fine?

Hi Josh,

The OEM foglights have a switch on the steering wheel stalk. The OEM set-up turns on the foglights with the low beams and shuts them off with the high beams.

There are times I would like them on with the highs for a wider light pattern.

When I have installed aftermarket fogs I have used a "single pole, double throw" (AKA On-Off-On) switch so I could turn the fogs on manually or have them come on with the high beams for traveling down windy back roads at night. I also did the same with driving lights.
