I maybe calling you about these next month.

I have to recover from my broken LSD.

Let me know if you need a new LSD and want it welded so it doesn't ever break again. I can take care of that for you :)

They are not likely to be any more stiff than the JIC's I run currently... far far stiffer than stock MSP, but more pleasant overall than the Spool spring/Tokico Blue combo I ran before. You definitely feel the road but it isn't "harsh" just uber uber stiff to where the car moves with ever bump in the road.. but it's not like jarring really with the JIC's.. if you turn the damping up at all from the softest setting it gets brutal FAST.

Some info on the KWs

I spoke to KW today and got the following info:

  • They do not come with top mounts.
  • They are twin tube low pressure shocks
  • The Spring rates (lbs/inch or Progressive Spring): Front=340 / Rear=Progresive
  • They lower the car 1.2-2.3 inches Front and 1.2-2.3 inches Rear.
  • They adjust the height via the spring perch only (like the teins).
  • The damper compression is set from the factory and the rebound is adjustable from the top (like some koni).
  • The endlink and brake line tabs are welded to the strut body.
  • There are tener springs on all four corners.
My cousin has them on his jetta and they feel controlled and firm, not bummy.

Thats all for now.

Thanks I already got one welded and installed.
I am just recovering from the cost.

ok so as a daily driver which coil would u recommend. i dont mind feeling more but dont want to be harsh or rattle the car, etc.

like on the car or just the assembly itself?
actually just saw a pic of the assembly on their site. I wish they had the varient 3 out for our car. What are the spring rates on them?

do you know the rates on the spool springs? I have them on my car along with the illuminas. They can be a little stiff at times but I like them.

do you know of a way to test them? if you still have your old ones maybe you can check them out?

You can measure the springs and using one of thousands of spring calculators on the internet, you can figure out the rate.

If KW had the Variant 3...
