Best Brakepads?

Don't know if they're the best but I just put a set of Centric Posi-Quiet - Ceramics on my P5. Once bedded properly they were as good, if not better than the OEM's. $17.82 at Discount Auto Brakes

Stoptech Street Performance, $100 all around, outstanding, and zero noise. KNSBrakes has em.

It depends on what you are looking for? low noise & dust, better bite, etc.

Normally, I'd agree ^^, but when the only negative of the Stoptech's is *some* dusting, I can't recommend anything else for daily/aggressive driving. Cold bite is harder than oem, warm/hot braking is far superior; they make zero noise, none, nada, under any condition I've experienced; I've faded the OEM pads, never faded these (same conditions/roads); they are made by stoptech, a stellar company; they are $100 for all 4 corners. Seriously, the only negative is MODERATE dusting.

There's zero reason to buy anything else, unless you drive a show car.

I have run Hawk HPS & HP+'s, Porterfield RS-4's at Mid-Ohio and other tracks, never faded them once. HPS's are great pads for agreesive driving on the street, better bite and superior braking over the OEM pads. They will have more dust than the OEM pads, but that's the trade off when you start to upgrade your pads.

thats a loaded question when you ask "best" of anything. a lot of that decision lies on your stopping needs and driving style. stoptech has a lot of great articles on braking on their website. also note centric owns stoptech and powerslot. along with their own centric branded products they mfg c-tek, posiquiet, and stoptech products. if you dont need the stopping characteristics of the stoptech pads or have the budget for it, they have cheaper solutions.

i myself have found EBC greenstuf pads a bit too noisy and dusty for my liking. they wear considerably faster than OEM pads. i currently have hawk hps pads that are very quiet compared to the greenstuf and they have plenty of padlife left in them. for best overall brake wear/price/nvh you can't beat OEM pads.

Ok thanks for the replies guys, I opted to go for the centrics posi-quiets! have a friend who swears by them. I really need price/performance and great pad life, IMHO thats more important than dusting. BTW what brand are the OEM pads?

update

Moved up to the stoptechs and they are the best brakepads I have tried thus far, the centrics tend to glaze the rotors with extreme use. So if you are using centrics its a good idea to sand your rotor from time to time.

Glazing is easily taken care of when slotted (like PowerSlot) rotors are used. The pads are always fresh and parallel for exceptional stopping power for the life of the pads.

When introducing new brake pads, it is always good to turn the rotors. We have packages available with low dust/low noise to performance brake pads.
