BEGI Off-Road Pipe on the way!

God you guys have the nicest toys. I'm a lowely college student working 9hrs a week at 7.50/hr. Do you have any idea how long it takes to get enough money for a turbo system. At that rate I calculate it to be NEVER, when I add in the cost of vacation and going to bars. This sux.

It looks like you have a fairly good list of mods yourself. I am not made of money, and I need to save more.

It's my J/cat bypass pipe!

I have the modified JIC Titanium exhaust on my car!

make sure you replace the resonator on the exhaust, it's only 11/2 in in diameter!

I saw it. I don't think it will hurt the performance any. The resonator doesn't. If it was the CAT, then....

Well, I got my downpipe installed today. The problem I had was finding a replacement Graphite "donut" gasket, and since Mazda parts is closed on Saturdays...I was not fixing to put my stock s*** back on!! I drove around town for 2 hours searching for this thing. No luck! Finally I was passing an Auto Zone, and said what the hell...I went into this one with a different approach. I told the sales guy that I need something that will fit this, and I showed him the downpipe. He ended up coming back with a gasket for a late 60's big block. It worked! Went home and delt with another broken stud! Hopefully it will work itself out of the hole like the last one. I started the car up, and it sounds a little louder now.. After I woke up from my 1 hour of sleep, I drove into work, and OMFG!!! This thing pulled like never before! With the J&S in and working correctly now, I saw when my car was slightly knocking at 7 PSI!! Wait a minute, I didn't change the boost!? The side effects of a more efficient exhuast I suspect!:D Oh yeah, my Check Engine Light went away after I finished the install! :wtf:

Nice to see you are really happy with the down pipe. Pretty cool stuff.

Thanks Chris. I just want to advise everyone who hasn't done so yet to get your studs from FP. The ones they use haven't broken yet. It's just the original studs with the BEGI kit, and the one I got from the hardware store to replace those. I will be ordering some extras from FP.

What exhuast is that? I will have my JIC-Magic 505 SUS on Sunday. My downpipe should be back from Ceramic Coating by the end of the week.

Linux, I didn't see any cats in that setup. Is it just a cat back? How much does it cost? WHat's it sound like?

Kooldino,

Yeah it's a catback. $698, but worth it! The exhaust has a low, deep tone that is not too loud, but has gotten louder since I added my BEGI downpipe.

Hey linux, did you keep the second cat or did the JIC replace it.
Also you mentioned the Check engine light went out did that stay the case or did it come back on?

1. Did the BEGI bolt up to the stock exhuast?
2. Did you have a CEL light from removing the first cat?
