classic Corky eh ?
Yes it is...He never has been good at the marketing side of these projects.

Hence Flyin' Miata was born...

But hey, his engineering skills are second to none.

pictures coming, here is the numbers breakdown - big improvement over stock

Intercooler Pressure Drop />

Measured at IC inlet and IC outlet.

Measured on a non-stock boost pressure vehicle.

Measured on BEGi 20 psi boost gauges (2).

Gauges switched after midpoint of total runs.

Gathered using either:

Constant Speed, Full Throttle, 4000 rpm, 4th Gear

Redline (0/-500 rpm), Full Throttle, Redline (0/-500 rpm)

OEM MazdaSpeed Protege Intercooler Pressure Loss :: 2.28 psi

BEGi MazdaSpeed Protege Intercooler Pressure Loss :: 00.5 psi

Intercooler Temperature Drop

IC temperature measured at IC inlet and IC outlet.

Intake temperature measured at center of intake horn with air filter in place.

Measured with Omega 781A Digital Thermometer.

Gathered at full throttle, maximum boost, 60 mph, 3500-4000 rpm, constant speed/rpm with braking. Speed and load held until temperatures stable.

OEM MazdaSpeed Protege Intercooler

Efficiency = 52.4%

BEGi MazdaSpeed Protege Intercooler

Efficiency = 87.2%

There you have it - an almost 2 psi increase over stock and over 30% more efficient than stock

Cool, it would be awesome if all vendors released their specs like this. Makes me think they got something to hide.

Although, the pressure drop measurment doesn't take into account the differences in the stock piping vs. whatever is used for this setup. Which could make the total pressure drop difference better or worse than 1.8psi. Even so, very nice numbers.
