Mazda 6 2009
Hi all.

I'm new to this forum so please allow me to introduce myself first.
I'm from Germany, my Mazda history started with a 323c which was my first car and I loved it. Now I have a 2009 Mazda 6 since two years and because I have already 200kkm I wold like to buy a CX9.

It is not easy to get a used one in Germany because Mazda never had this car in the official offer.

I found one CX9 from 2009 with 51kkm and I'm have a few questions.
Right now I have in my 6 the blind spot and front parking assist option. Booth of them are missing in the CX9. Is it possible to add this? Also is it possible to change the radio from the 2009 model to a newer one like the 2011 one? Do you have any experience any ideas? Also is there anything what I need to check before I buy? I already know that the breaks has been changed by Mazda.

Thank you so much for any help.

Hey rani sorry to bump an old post, thought I could chime in. I have the 09 cx-9 grand touring awd. It does have a blind spot notification thing which I think is essential, and the bose sound system sounds amazing. I would look for a fully loaded one before trying to add some un-needed mods. Not sure what the selection is over in GER tho. USA here.

Hi R_a_n_i welcome! I have an 08 (with zero problems so far). I have a Grand Touring model, but I believe that even with the GT package for 08/09 BSM was optional.
There is a button to turn it on/off below the steering wheel, and to the left. Group of buttons including traction control, bsm, power liftgate and i forget the other one.
Just look for the bsm button to make sure if has it. I don't know of any way to add parking assist. 08/09 did not have that technology so the wiring harness will not have any pigtails for that, no computers for that, nothing. Virtually impossible to add that.

The 2011/2012 model radio should plug&play, but don't quote me on that.
Unless you find a used Bose navigation unit on ebay, the sport/touring radios have a pretty small screen and are nothing to write home about.
I believe though that the 2011/2012 model have the navigation disc or sd card or something inside the head unit.
My 08, and the 2009 has the navigation disc in a separate unit in the rear of the vehicle. So there could be a navigation incompatibility, possibly. I don't know.
I do know that my 08 head unit / nav / Bose sound quality is awesome. My 2013 Nissan Altima Bose factory sound system just sucks horribly compared to my CX-9. The only downside to the CX-9 nav unit is the navigation software/ interface is pretty outdated now, and there is no Bluetooth streaming audio.
