Please help a mazda noob out. What is the engine code for a 2002 PR5? Is the same series engine used in 2002+ miatas?

I am trying to figure out if a Jackson supercharger for a miata will work on a PR5. Probably not without some hefty fabrication, right?

No. Not at all.

Hefty fabrication. As in, totally not worth the effort. There is a S/C kit made for the Proteges, called WOMP, but there was some heat on the forum about it, and it's vendor, I think, so I'm not sure we're allowed to talk about it!
Honestly, I can't keep up with what I am and am not allowed to talk about anymore. (bang)

Thanks for the answers. I wish jackson would make one for the PR5. Guess maybe turbo is the way to go.

Hey, glad to help. Welcome to the forum.

There are several turbo options, and unlike the S/C for the Pro, you don't have to sacrifice your air conditioner to have one.

Have fun with the P5.

Ohh, yeah don't want to sacrafice the AC down here in the south. I actually don't have a P5. A friend of mine owns it and wants to start modding it with my help. I haven't ever messed with P5's other than simple maintenence. So this forum will be a help to find what is avaliable for them.

I drive a 99 Impreza 2.5RS that I will be doing a motor swap on soon. Putting in a 2004 STi motor! I may however pick up a P5 for a daily driver. I really like how they drive. Good gas milage and capablity to haul my camping gear around.
