A number of us are headed to the Beachland next Friday to catch Elliott Brood. So far the following have either committed or expressed a strong interest:
1) Tom (and Jackie)
2) Marlon
3) Laurie
4) Phen
5) Pablo
6) Fez
If anyone else is interested and willing to commit let me know and I'll front the money for the tickets ($10 per head). I don't expect it to sell out, but they're in the Tavern rather than the ballroom, and that's a pretty small venue.
For those of you that don't know this band (which is probably everyone), they're a really cool Canadian act that've been called everything from Alternative Country (I actually hate "traditional" country; they're nothing like that) to a cross between Nirvana and the Drop Kick Murphys. The opening act is a local band that I know nothing about. The second opener is another Canadian act called The Pack A.D. - a female blues duo who has had a recent hit north of the border with a song called "Sirens." If interested you can listen to it on their website:

The Beachland is off the East Shoreway (I90) very near the East 152 exit. If you haven't been there it's time to expand your horizons! Doors open at 8 p.m. though we can discuss what time we want to show up.
Note to Phen: remember, no taking your car apart and being unable to get it back together next Friday. (moon)
