battery ground cable question

uhm. i was gonna reground my battery today but i ran into a problem. there's 2 wires coming out of the connector. one is black with a yellow strip and the other is black with a grey stripe. i donno where the yellow striped one goes. i'm assuming that the ground to the alternator? the grey striped one goes to a ground right next to the battery. the yellow one goes into a wireloom and disappears forever. i tried to look around the alternator but i couldn't find where this thing goes. someone help. i just got this cool 2 awg battery ground cable. that should help with my dimmage.

Just leave the Yellow. and upgrade the body ground also due the engine ground ( engine to batt) and the engine to body. Just leave the yellow.

yeah, i plan on doing that. i was just wondering wtf that is and where it goes. the problem is, i have a 2 awg ground that already has a battery post connector on it. so i'm gonna have to cut that yellow striped one off the stock post connector and put a ring terminal on it. then just use my aftermarket one and put the yellow one on the screw. oh well. so does anyone wanna tell me where that wire goes, cuz it's bugging the hell outta me.

It goes under the battery to a bracket by the engine. check out the how to section. panzozo did a write up on how to install 1st's ground kit.. part of the ground kit was upgrading those wires. the how to is great. it will show you all. lata

I think that yellow one is the engine ground.//Panzozo's write up has some good pics that should cover you. It goes into a big loom with a bunch of wires but comes out the other side and connects to bolt on the engine. You can kinda trace it if you need to.

it is hard to trace. the loom is wrapped with tape. and the wires inside the loom are wrapped with tape. the wire is bolted to a brace that is under a huge 3 way wire loom. the how to will show you pictures and give better detail

I did not read this earlier, but you may want to get a different terminal. they sell them pretty cheap all kinds of places. you should be able to get on locally or you could use www.partsexpress.com.

if you are going through the troulbe of upgrading the other wires off the battery the other wires are easy to install.. from the grounding kit that 1st sells. guess he will still build you one even know he is a subaru man now. I recommend it. adn I bet others will to. you can get the kit that comes with the monster cable terminals for the battery to. I guess he gives you instructions also. and you will have the how to. mabye tha twill be better for ya
