Battery Drain/Engine Issue

I recently took my car to the dealer because it was having some battery drain issues and the battery was new-the determine it was a "loose positive cable and that was it. About 2 weeks later and I am having issues again.

1. The engine makes a clicking noise randomly when the car has been turned off for days-unsure where it is coming from. It also does it sometimes after I turn it off.
2. Check engine light came on and the fuel tank shows 0 miles in range but says there is 1/2-When i drove it earlier it was 120 miles to empty.
3. Battery drains quickly in hours-I put in an optima batter and part of me wonders if it needs to be recharged from the previous issues.

Any one have any suggestions or tips as to what is going on? It is becoming very frustrating.View attachment IMG_0259.MOV

I just watched your video...whatever is doing that is causing the battery drain.

Can you pop the hood and see if the noise can be isolated to an area of the engine?

Cant kpen the file on my phone but seems like the throttle body to me. That same sound happens when you are flashing the ecu or if you try to start the car with an incompatible ecu rom. Ill check the movie on my pc later

Also of you have an optima deep cycle battery note that they dont wind down like a lead acid.. you either have enough power or you don't (get a battery charger for hime in case).

Are you saying that your dealer can't diagnose the issue when it's making that kind of noise? If so, you need to try a different dealer.

Unfortunately the only dealer is here. I may take it to an import specialist. I'm going to try and swap to a new battery tomorrow to see if maybe the optima was past the point of being able to recharge properly.

If your car was turned off during that video, I'd have to agree with Kedis, whatever it is that is continuing to run after the power has been switched off is draining your battery. I would not think there would be any point in replacing the battery until you (or your dealer) can determine what it is that is continuing to run, and why. Otherwise you're just going to drain down a new battery. Take the car, and that video to your dealer and tell them it's not fixed.
