Battery keeps dying

I've got the issue of the battery being dead after a week or more.
What is the current best rated battery?
I need dependability in this vehicle. I'm ill and often need to go right then.

you can put the "current best rated battery" into your car, but that will also likely die, after a week or more.

You either have some sort of parasitic drain going on which needs to be addressed first or the battery itself is bad.

start by testing the battery.

The highest priced batteries are usually the AGM (sealed glass mat). They are available from various companies. I don't know that any particular battery company is much better than the others. AGM might have some advantages but all batteries can run down when they sit for a period of time.

You could get one of those lithium jump cells so you can use it anytime your car won't start. I would guess you'd have to open the hood to use a jump starter.

If you park where you can plug in a 110v battery maintainer that is probably the best solution and might be less trouble than using a jump pack if you get one that plugs into the cig lighter port.

You probably drive short distances and not often. Assuming no idle draw issue.

How old is the car and battery?

Options
get larger capacity (A) battery. The oem is small.
Some deep cycle AGMs offer that.
+ external charger if your car is garaged.

I have Northstar X2 deep cycle AGM and that thing can take lots of discharges and punches. Degrades much slower than the oem Mazda used

x2 real AGM - 816 when brand new

either measure amp draw or you could try to remove postive battery terminal wire and see if it sparks,think its better to grab a cheap meter that does dc amps and do it that way

I don't recommend this, could fry some expensive electronics. Best practice is to always remove the battery ground first.

Hey, I work part time in Sam’s Club tire and battery. Our battery is made by East Penn. It’s a Duracell branded battery. 3 year non prorated, replacement only warranty. 199 for the AGM. We use a saver that plugs into the obd2 port so no settings are lost. Most shops use them. Normally you loose the auto down on the windows and the fold in mirrors go back to the default of on. It might be a good thing to pull the negative cable for a few minutes, it might clear the previous battery management settings and start over for a fresh battery. Not sure if that will help though it won’t hurt. Only Cx5 s with istop have a scan tool reset feature for the battery management system.

i use sams club for batteries with no worries,so good to use agm as replacement ? i will give it a try,thanks
