How much have you guys spent on aftermarket parts (performance or apperance) and looking back if your truly up there (in the amount spent)which you probably didnt realize till now would you go back and trade your msp with the money you spent on it and get a superior vehicle?
 
You know I've thought about that once and I don't have that much in mine and still racked up 4+k bill on mine. I can't imagine some of these guys with the MSPs.
 
with the money i've spend on mine, i could have gotten something better, but it would be stock :)
 
I've an LX-T, 2003.

I think when I bought it brand new it was between 16k and 20k.

new seats,-300.00


there's more.. This is just for now, plus about a 2k bill for test/tune and some other s***. and...3k bill on body/paint.

so what is that...11,375.00 without body/tune..

16,375.00 with..ouch.
 
not that I have an MSP, but if I had one and had spent that much on it, I think I would have rather gotten something better. But I'm guessing most didnt spend 10-15k up front on mods. Its usually bit by bit as you see fit. either way, I think even if you did get a better car, you'd still go ahead and mod that and end up spending even more money.

that's what I was saying.

I like my protege. but see, I started with a freakin LX, and swapped the MSP motor and s*** into it. upgraded turbo/exhaust and suspension and what not.


anyways. I'm happy with my car..well..I will be when I get my car back from tuning/body shop.
 
It cost me and arm and a leg to just get the car back to normal.

$400 for the RH rims

$30 for the shift knob
$40 for trunk badges

Total of $835 all before mods
then We go into the mods
$150- INJEN CAI

$130- for 2 gauges

$75 front motor mount
$799- Vibrant exhuast- on order

$2450- Give or take a few hundred

wow i think i have you all beat. but no i just started on mine. and i do have big plans but those are big plans with no money to back it up yet.

so far ive spend a big whopping $5.00 on mods. went from a 15.0 @93mph to 14.0@99mph on that. beat that for the money. but i am soon going to get the front motor mount, fmic, cai, custom 3" downpipe from the turbo out the side and lower it with new bushings front and back. EMS and go from 8psi to 12psi for the time being.

The big plans are to get an extra motor and build it for big hp.

haha oh its the spring from autozone to increase boost by 2 psi and then i just removed the j-pipe. Loud but effective. Its done a great job for the last 25k miles that ive had it on there. no problems whatsoever. compression is still absolutly perfect and no engine noises at all. car sits at 72k miles as of now
 
I had frgoten about the spring mod. I had my MBC at 8.5psi but after I removed the cats it went to like 12 so I removed it and now it sits at about 8. It was to loud with just the S-pipe.
 
yeah. its loud but i really dont care. and it sounds like the car is under water at idle. everyone says its bubbly. hahaha. whole different story when driving it. everyone loves the way it sounds though. turbo spools instantly and you can hear it from a mile away. i love it. i plan on doing a 3" that exits out the side of the front bumper. I think that would look pretty mean.
