Bad Fuel Sending Unit? Gas tank reading Empty when Full.

Again, I posted this on another Mazda forum and hadn't really received any solid tips so I'll try here also...

Last week, my area had really bad weather, lots of rain, deep puddles. After frying my ECU once, I always try to avoid puddles and go through them slow as I can in parking lots. I did go through some deep puddles on this day, but extremely slow.

The morning after, I go to start my car and my gas tank is reading empty with the light on. I know this is false and there's more than half a tank in my gas tank. So after panicking for a minute, I turned my car off and turned it back on; same thing. A week later, my car is still doing this and I am wondering if it's the fuel sending unit or if it has to do with something electrical.

Anyone ever experience this or have any input? I'm guessing it might just be from the water and puddles maybe getting in my CAI? but who knows...
