bad experience with streetu..t.com

i did bought a set of H&R coilover from str..tunit.com. when i place my order they told me part#29278-6 Dampened and tuned specifically for the all wheel drive MAZDASPEED 6. so i just order that one. few days later ups/fedex people drop it in front of my door then i saw the put the speed6 thicker on top of the mazda 6i. then i call them they tell me this the right one. so i just go ahead send it to the shop to instill it. one day later, wow my speed6 look very good . when i drive i back to my home i feel the front is ok just like the oem but the rear is way too soft. i will say alot softer than oem. every time when i full throttle on the corner. my rear tire will hit inside of my 1/4 panel. i just drop 1 1/2 inch. i get under my car and check the part# on the spring. 29278-1 is not 29278-6 on the spring. 29278-1 is for mazda6.

next day i call street..it.com and tell them about that. they tell me 29278-6 and 29278-1 is same. H&R put diff. part# just for marketing. WHY YOU TOLD ME(Dampened and tuned specifically for the all wheel drive MAZDASPEED 6). then i asking for refund. they said 50% is the best they can do.

so i pay $600 for a lie.

i try to make it short.
i pay 1200 for a h&r coilover(speed6 only). then they send me the one for mazda6. i asking for refund they just give me 600 back!

apparently he thinks that SU sent him a coilover set for a regular mazda 6 instead of a speed6...and since they have been installed, they will only refund him 1/2 of the 1200 he paid for them.

Gotcha. The 6 and MS6 should share the same coilovers though, there isn't much of a weight difference.

My guess is that it was improperly installed, either that or they sent the kit for something else entirely.

you can install 6 coilovers on ms6 but spring rate and Dampened is difference. now only autoexe and h&r have the one just for ms6.

I can understand it just fine guys, and I think he has a right to be a bit miffed. He did not receive what was advertised to him they in intentionally sent him one disguised as another, but he got screwed because it was already on the car. Jeebus, that was not hard to get folks.

At least you got some money back, guy. I don't know what else to tell besides call SU and keep going back and forth with them.

this is why it pays to research, research, research before dropping 1200 on something. You've got to get info about the product from someone other than the person you're giving your money to. Did you call H&R to confirm the story about the part numbers? If they didn't change their numbers for "marketing" and they are indeed different because one is for the regular and one is for the speed version of the 6 then you'd have a very strong case to get a full refund.

i cleaned up the junk in the thread. leave his spelling and grammar issues out of this.

street unit actually used to be a main sponsor here, and they basically s*** on this board. they did this kind of stuff and screwed over multiple members. thats why you can't type their web address or the whole name as one word. i say contact H&R and see if you can get confirmation that the sets are in fact different, preferably in writing, and then follow up with SU.

Actually, a lot of Mazda forums, even here in Montreal, Canada, have forbidden SU to be mentionned on their page, for the same reason as here.

It is an unfortunate story. Hope it turns out good for you!

not true. we allow non-sponsers to be posted. just if a company proves itself to be a risk to the community, the admins take action to prevent further issues.

their link is not allowed due to some shady business that was done on the forum between themselves and other vendors

I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates that! Way to protect the forum members!! (bow)(yippy)(thumb)

I totally agree with wannabe, get ahold of H&R and make sure that you were indeed sent the wrong item. SU may have sold you the 'appropriate' items, but they are used for both the 6/MS6. There are several items that are like this in the suspension dept. When you call SU, you need to be civil as well. Don't call and immediately b**** at them for being idiots (whether they were or not IDK), just explain the situation and make sure they are clear with you as well. A little courtesy goes a long way.
