Backup camera install

Has anyone installed an aftermarket backup camera to connect to the stock display unit? I have a 2013 base model. Have seen some wiring diagrams that show hookup, but am not sure about location of harness connector to connect to.

I did it for my wife's '05 Prius.
Basic principle is the same.
There is video output from Navi unit. You insert a video switch and pull the backup camera video into it also.
Both inputs are switched by the backup signal wire. In backup gear, the camera video goes thru, in other gears, the NAVI video goes thru.
You must be in NAVI mode to see the backup camera as expected.
The rest you need is just the details that vary from one vehicle to another.

i installed it on my cx9 i bought an aftermarket mirror with wiering harness and a backup camera it works great. IF anyone needs a camera i havee one it basiclly goes in place of one of the licence plate lights.

How is it installed? I am assuming you have to take the tailgate trim off and access the light from inside. I have seen a few of these on ebay, but have not pulled the trigger yet.

yes the tailgate cover comes off its 3 different parts fairly easy to do. Its definetely worth the money my wife had hard time parking this thing now its great.

Thanks, that is helpful. I had seen similar cameras. In my case, I am trying to buy a new nav/HD radio and hook it up. The wife needs the camera, I need a better blue-tooth and good music
