Back seat cup holder/ashtray compartment

Does anyone know if there is a cup holder option we can put in the back seat? I know there is that square which looks like it could be cut out. My car is parked right now and i wont' be by the dealer to ask them for awhile so no one freak out on me. (dark)
P.S. no one really sits back there, but its kinda cheap looking without a holder back there.

Believe it or not, the answer is no. As far as I know you can not get factory cup holders in the U.S. Of course the JDM model can have them. Th funny part is that they don't mount how you think they would. I thought the same thing. That cut out panel looks like it is for a cup holder or ash tray. The pics I have seen of the JDM cup holder show it actually mounting to the center tunnel "bump." Weird, but I would still like to have one.

The cup holders do mount to that blank panel area, I believe. They're just not flush mounted nor does it look like a factory option. While it's JDM and all, it looks like something from JCWhitney that's a universal fit and just screwed on. That's entirely my own opinion, though.

Do a search, there's a JDM cupholder available in north America, somebody did a GB on them a while back at like $70 or so. They're nice, dunno if they're $70 nice, but they're nice.

VW also has some that would work out of the older model Passat, they're a fold down and OK, perhaps check New Dimensions of Rapid Parts. They're a universal design...

Sorry but for $70....I'd buy 3 tanks of gas and a soda and stick it up front... (evil)

Thanks for your opinions. I'll let the people in the back struggle before i put some half ass one in. If the dealer had one that went into regular p's i'd just add that.

Definitely try a search, it's been brought up before. I think there was a pretty nifty solution -- something like the P5's factory rear cupholder fits exactly? Someone did GB through a dealership to get a few dozen. Might have been in Canada. And this might be the same as the $70 solution Ping mentioned. Sorry that's not a lot of help, but might help you search. (?)

wtf, they cost that much in the group buy??!?! i thought they were like $40. they are definately not worth $70.

i payed $30 for mine in japan. they cant hold our huge ass american cups too well. kinda cool but they dont really do anything
