hey guys, for those who have the b&m shortshifter, was it hard to install? also does/can it cause any problems with your drivetrain?

there are numerous threads about these shifters here on the board...but to directly answer your questions.....

No...it was NOT hard to install...of course this is relitive depending on your mechanical ability and tool avilability. took me about an hour.

No....it will NOT cause any problems to your drive train.

Guys.... if you have B&M shifter could you tell me will it make any problem to our P5 Exhaust.... becasue I heard that from some hordan guys.... they said the short shifter will hit the exhaust pipe..... does anyone with the B&M has any problem? I really want to know before I got mine. Thanks

Mark, if you look under your car in the area of where the shifter is, and you still have your stock exhaust you will see that under that are is the resonator for your exhaust system....also ABOVE that there is a heat shield which is made of thin sheet metal and held to the bottom of your car with four screws.....the shifter is at the VERY front part.....you will only have to bend down a slight part of the very front of the heat shield to make all the clearance you need....the shifter will NOT hit the exhaust pipe.....

this is even described in the install instructions for the shifter.

and BTW....if you put in an aftermarket exhaust (cat back) and do away with the resonator...you can remove the heat shield as well since it won't be needed anymore and that also solves that problem.
