AWR Motor Mounts

I've just heard stories about the rear mount. I don't personally have any experience with it but heard its a pain. There's a thread on here about an easy how to on gettin the rear in tho.

Well.... I should have said something along the lines of "a not such a pain in the ass way to get it in". Maybe that works better? Haha.

Yea, I found that thread about the rear mount they guy said it was kinda a pain. But thanks for all the info, i'll replace them even though I have no problems with engine movement, i'll save myself the trouble down the road.

Great choice. You really don't want to have to deal with what I did when mine screwed up. It spent a week and a half at Mazda when it happened.

Yeah I need more mounts. I had the AWR 95, then went back to stock because it was so rough with it, then got the 70durometer replacement bushings and put the AWR back in.

I'm fairly certain my rear mount is completely torn through though because my engine moves like CRAZY. I'm really afraid it's going to break my exhaust, that's how much it's moving. She bucks a ton when stuck in traffic too, and it wasn't like that when I first got an AWR mount (at like 40k miles then, 67k now).

FWIW, I just pulled my AWR 70 rear and swapped for one of Turfburn's filled stock mounts. OMG, what a difference. I can actually run the A/C at idle now without shaking the car apart. (I still have the AWR 70 front in). I think I'm going to see about filling the side mounts.

I need to get under my car tomorrow sometime to inspect my stock mount. I've heard that as long as it isn't completely torn I should be ok with just inserts. That's my plan.

My passenger side mount was completely torn and it is doing great with the insert. I don't know about the rear though. It could be different. I have to go to Mazda to see about another turbo cuz mine is acting super crazy and I think I'm going to get them to replace the mount on the pass. side while it's there. Just to keep it from acting up.

hey when you said Turfburn's filled stock mounts, is that just a stock mount filled with some stuff? cause my rear mount i think is all torn up i was thinking about taking it out and just filling it up with polyurethane material that can be used on a caulking gun. what you think?

thanks

^^ I wouldn't recommend that if your mount is torn, but if it is just worn go right ahead. I've never seen filled mounts last though. I went with the RR Racing inserts for the rear mount, I definitely thought mine was torn but checked and it looks just fine, so I'll pop the inserts in this weekend.

I just installed the 90s, red by the way and i love them. still need to break them in though. The vibe doesnt really bother me though, im very happy with the change in the car
