AWR front and rear MT mounts?

Is anyone running both MT front and back? I read on ********** that you should only use these for race? Guys who are running the MT's let me know if it's worth it. On a side note, i'll be running around 350whp when i put these on. Help me deciede MT for both or MT front/AT rear?

Other than being more harsh, there is really no difference in at/mt. Performance wise like I said mt offer probly no real difference in an everyday inviorment. On higher hp levels (maybe over 300)I could see their benifit. But for daily driving, they are too stiff. If you "plan" on being in the 350 range, you would deffinatly want to change the side mounts as well. They wont last long with both mt up front and back.

What does MT and AT mean? I didnt see them listed as different products. Also, Ive never seen side mounts, does anyone make them?

(AT = Automatic Tranny, MT = Manual Tranny)

I have front and rear.... they are indeed harsh.

Trade offs for everything though.

I have the AT mount in the front only... And even that can, at times, be harsh at idle. I can't imagine how bad it'd be to have MT mounts in the front AND back. I think the costs would outweigh the benefits.

I just took my rear MT mount off. I hated the ride. I was just going to swap the bushings with the softer ones but I just ended up taking it off and putting the stock mount back on.

The people that complain about the rear mount seriously puzzle me. Either you expected a Lexus type ride with it in or you didn't install it right. I'll say it again; I have both and it's *NOT THAT BAD*.

You have to consider what this modification is. It's a solid mount for an engine that moves more than you would even think. Yes, you will get feedback when RPMS drop near stalling, as you would in ANY situation/setup.

The ride? The ride is no different unless you're at low RPM in with load or in reverse. Toughen up a bit. My springs changed my MSP's ride more than the mounts.

Gotta disagree with ya.. Both MT mounts give the car a much more solid and connected feel, even in traffic. Definately recommended.

So which is it? Is the ride better or not?!

To answer my own rhetorical question, the ride doesn't change at all really with the AWR mounts. I have front and rear A/T mounts and they are just not worth it unless you race a lot (auto-x or drag). If you basically only tool around town and "race" a little bit at stoplights, just stay with the stock rubber bands. Just my opinion.

The ride is greatly improved for the better; it's not decreased as it is alwasy made out to b unless you're near-stall.

I have MT front and rear. LOVE them. they take a while to settle in (5-6000 KM) and they are much harsher than stock (duh). Drivability is super increased (wheel hop is virtually gone, shifting seems smoother due to less transmission flex). The feel of being super connected to the car is improved (thoug not as much as switching in "race" seats).

On the downside, rattles will show up that you didn't have before, and it's much louder in the car than with OEM mounts due to resonance not being isolated by the stock rubber band mounts. IMO the trade off is seriously worth it, but I know a couple of guys who have decided to leave in stock mounts after riding in my car. Try to ride with someone who has them before you get them done.

AT mounts might be a good compromise, but I haven't been in a car with them to compare.

I knew the mounts would create a less comfortable ride, I'm not complaining..... I have no intention of taking them out either.

I've got an Unorthodox 6-puck clutch, Unorthodox 9lb flywheel, and the AWR motor mounts. It's a pretty aggressive street setup that's not for your average modder. Traffic is the only place where I don't like it though.

You've got to sacrifice things for performance.... It's the way things go.
