In another post I expressed my dissatisfaction the the CX-5 automatic transmission. In this post I'd like to express my very positive first impressions of it's AWD system. I haven't slogged through deep mud yet but I did bring it to a full stop part way up a steep and somewhat wet grassy slope. Pulled away nicely with no slippage I could detect. My impression so far is the Mazda system works a tad better than on the last car I had, a Renault Duster which comes equipped with Nissan's Intelligent 4WD. The latter has three settings: 2wd, "Intelligent 4wd", an AWD setting and 4wd lock. So far I am perceiving less slippage in the Mazda than in the the Duster set to "Intelligent 4wd" . Kudos Mazda.
