AVIC-D3 Review!

just ordered my d3x from abtelectronics after the rebate it will be like 640 good thing we get a tax rebate in early summer lmao, i also ordered the pioneer install kit from best buy with left over christmas gift cards. I found a write up on the Veedub forums that explain the pioneer kit, i like the fact its metal and clips to the sides, seems a little more stout to me and thats the way i like it when dealing with a double din unit. I will also be going to best buy to get the rear view camera ( i have some more gift cards to burn and what better way). Its on backorder but once it gets here ill post up more info on the vss wire and everything. My sister didnt use it when she hooked hers up in her rsx, but i think ill be different and do it just for the heck of it. I dont think it will be too hard to track it down as well as the reverse switch.

i got my pioneer cage from best buy in two days. i ordered it last friday and got it i think tuesday. abt had the d3 backordered but it is now on its way, it should be here monday. I will install it monday night im sure, so long as i am here to receive the package and sign. i looked over the pioneer cage and i am pretty sure i am going to highly rec. it to anyone. i know they say on there website that its web only, but im willing to bet that they have one in the stereo install bay at any best buy. they would be dumb not to. I didnt think about it until i was up there looking at the rear view cameras. anyways just wanted to update anyone that is following this thread, ill post more on monday, maybe lol

got her installed and working, made a backup copy of the east disc to keep mr original safe. I took a few install pics, and ill try to post them up in the near future, i just have to resize them. If anyone is on the fence about this unit, dont wait, do it now while the rebate is there. I got the d3, the ipod cable, the wireless remote, and bluetooth adapter for 637 shipped to my door from abt electronics. The cage i ordered from best buy.com for like 50 and i HIGHLY recommend it to anyone versus anything plastic. It bolts to the d3 and holds it in there nice and snug. I could not use the rear support though, there wasnt enough clearance.

Yeah I'm anxious to hear more about the cage and see some pics. I might have to switch over to it as well.
