I got my silver MS3 a week and a half ago. It's the grand touring package w/ satellite radio. I was wanting to utilize the aux port in the center console for my ipod.. However, on the radio i can not get it to switch over to AUX?? what's the deal? i can cycle through, AM, FM, SAT1,SAT2,SAT3, then back to AM?? what is going on here? anyone had this problem before??

There is only one port on the back of the radio for the AUX port or Sirius radio adapter. Mazda makes a cable that allows you to share that one port so that both will work. I would try to get the dealer to install it for free if you can. good luck.

so if you have satellite radio.. the auxillary port in the center console is useless? that's what you're telling me?

That's strange. My GT w/ Nav & Sirius package can do both...isn't that what you're implying you have or did you get the Sirius installed afterwards?

maybe there is something different with the nav, but my GT has the same problem, they use the same plug 4 both. I unplugged my satellite first to connect the aux in until i got the free 6 months from Sirius, then i plugged that back in.

I really don't feel like paying mazda over $100 for that little adapter.

Go back to your dealer and complain. I told them the car doesn't work as advertised. A bit of haggling and I got one for free. Installed it myself.

All 2008.5 with Nav and Sirius have the capability without having to install the switch box.
