Anyone know the sizes your numbers have to be off the top of their heads? I think #'s should be between 8-12" and letters atleast 4" high.

searching scca stuff now....

minimun 8" tall for numbers - letters are 25-50% that size and no smaller than 3"
have to use at least 1 1/4" stroke also...

not sure if there's a maximun size or not...

wtf... please tell me we don't need a stroke on them... i JUST cut and painted my numbers!

that just means the thinnest(or is it thickest? o.O I should really know this...) part of the numbers should be at least 1 1/4in

though regionally no one really cares - you will probably only be called on it at a national or maybe divisional event

anyone know where to get cheap #'s and letters ......i was thinkin to just go to a craft store and look for sheets of magnet and viylne and make my own

i bought two 12x24" sheets(magnets w/ vinyl), Krylon Fusion(for plastics) and an exacto knife(didn't use cause scissors work great) for $24 at Hobby Lobby.

That's easiest - mine are just black magnetic sheet cut with an Xacto. Took about 20mins and cost maybe 10-15$ A 24" x 12" sheet is probably enough for 2-4 numbers (1-2 per side) and 4 letters (2 each side) if you're conservative with it - 24"x24" if you want larger numbers than minimun size.
Even less thought involved; buy a stencil and some krylon and paint the numbers onto magnetic squares.

Just avoid the thin printer ready magnetic sheets - they fall off at speed.
Also - if the magnets ever warp (my eternal problem), toss them on the hood after a long drive, the heat will get them to lie flat again.

thanks, my sheets came rolled up so some hood time is in order

My wife makes really good autocross numbers for $20. She hates doing it... so its funny to get people to ask her. PM kbicknel and she can hook you up if you want. Everything is made completely over SCCA Solo II spec in white.

are you guys going to be @ KY Speed way Sunday the 13th?

grrr, ****** up my alignment and rashed a wheel tonight. not really holding tight on the steering wheel with left hand and dialing my phone in the right. i was rolling away from a stop sign and forgot to shift into 2nd before i hit boost(wasn't gunning it, just driving normally) and when boost hit at around 4K the car torque steered towards the curb and before i could grab ahold of the steering wheel and aviod it i threw my left front wheel on the curb and back down. got under the car and everything looks to be alright. hopefully a quick front alignment tomorrow will fix the ~1o+camber and minimal toe in.

i'm gonna be pissed if i need anything else... i should be at the autoX still... waiting to register until i get my new tire and alignment. this week was a shittty week for my wheels/tires.
