AUTOEXE style lip owners

dosle - hey, u can drop your car and inch in the front, throw some 17's on, and itll look low, even if its just an inch. the lip lowers your car 3 inches more, fyi. i guess if u drive carefully, it shouldnt be a problem, but just a little warning about causing stress marks/cracks in your grill. thanks for the desktop hehe

gj - what is LL? anyway, i have the autoexe grill made from fiberglass. if u hit your front bumper/lip going up/down driveways, since your pressing the buttom of the bumper up, itll cause pressure on the fiberglass grill, which will cause stress marks.

- chris

LL MEANS LOWER LIP

AUTOEXE does not make a fiberglass lip ... its made out of urthane and if you have a fiberglass LL then its a replica.

... unless your talking about the bumper taking so much pressure that it makes the upper grill (made out od fiberglass) crack, but if thats so it will need hella lots of pressure.

yes, i was talking about the grill cracking/getting stress marks the whole time, not the lower lip. - chris

hey l8r do you scrape floors a lot w/ the lip? i dropped my car w/ tein springs and im already scrapin stuff left and right ..

hey i've asked this question before....
the replies from most ppl are that the bumper parts covered by the lip will get scratched during installation.... and also tiny vibrations when the car is going over bumps and stuff will scratch it even more....
so your bumper will get screwed up..... just remember that.... you will need to get it repainted probably if you want to remove the lip and sell the car as stock....

Not true, what you are speaking of is IF the lip is fiberglass. If it's urthane you will not have that problem ... my AUTOEXE urthane lip did zero damage to my front end.

ive heard u can have the lip painted on all sides and the smooth surface will treat ur paint nicely
yup, again this process is for fiberglass, not needed for urthane ... just the norm prep work.

Haha...my factory bumper is probably all torn up underneathe. But I plan on keeping my car till the end. So it doesn't really matter. It will be like a family heirloom.

cool! i will get my underside painted b4 i get it put on then since mine is DGM cf one and the inside is rough unlike urethane

ok now those of you with the the parts how much did it cost to get them painted so i have an idea what to expect?

oh yea by the way.
AUTOEXE the original lip is urethane.... but only stage 2...... meaning it is far inferior to Wings west urethane which can be bent in and will reshape by itself when left out in heat.

THE AUTOEXE LIP is not durable as all may think it still is a stage 2 urethane and will crack. If u want i can show u some pics of mine when my bro took the car up the driveway. its in 4 pieces right now and currently being worked on to fix it.

paint depends.... i think anywhere between 75-200. those were my quotes.... and keep in mind this is the CF lip.... i was only getting the top half painted too if that matters.

I paid $300 for a shop to paint my lip and grill.

As for scratching up your bumper, my lip is a replica and made in fiber glass. I just took it off today cause my mom basically drove into a curb and cracked my lip, sucks but hey s*** happens. Anyways when I took off the lip, there were scratches and paint lost at the areas where the lip contacts with the bumper. You won't notice the scratches when the lip is on, but occassionally if you bottom out the lip will move a good 1-2 inches and it'll scratch up there. Fortunately for the last 6 months my bumper was almost scratch free, but with todays event, I'm looking for a new lip.

yeah... autoexe isn't as strong as you think. sure, it'll take the scrape here and there, but my friend broke his once on his own driveway.... and then he repaired it. a few weeks later, he ran over something on the highway and boom, it's gone...
