Autocross Sep. 4 - Atlanta Motor Speedway

That's a fair assessment of the costs. I'm reconsidering. I guess we'll see.

I really hope to see you there! I look forward to meeting you.

I'd like to meet you too. Your GRM challenger Miata is fantastic!

Frankly, I'd just really like to go wring out my car a bit. I've only gotten to 'cross this one once, and I do so much of my driving with the kid in the car that I'm getting sick of driving like an old lady. I need to feel the econo-b***** sliding around a track!

BTW, what the hell are you doing up this late? What the hell am I doing up this late, for that matter?

(*econo-b**** is a combination of econo-box and track b****, as is my Protege!)

haha you drive like an old lady

I do drive like an old lady right now. My boy is 3 months old, so while he has pretty good neck strength and head control, if I dog it around a turn, he is one unhappy bobblehead baby!

i think im going to sign up and go. i have to calculate how much i'll be spending though. is anyone meeting up to drive down there, and if so, where are u meeting at?

It's 100 miles from my house to AMS. Then the autocross, then 100 miles home. To be there for the morning session, I'd have to leave here, with the wife and baby, at around 5:00AM. That's just not going to happen. I should have paid a bit more attention to the distance and the time frame.

So it's not the price of gas, it's the price I'll pay for not getting any sleep that's keeping me from racing this weekend. I'll get out to one or more of the events at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. That's only 40 miles from home.

Tomorrow, I'm going to stick around here and put on my header.

are you racing in class?

if not, register for Time Only in the afternoon.

(picturing bobblehead baby in rearview mirror) I can't wait til my wife and I start having kids, no sleep and bobbleheads here we come.

If you're ever in the Alpharetta area, drop me a line. I'll take you for a spin in the turbo Miata. I need to wind it through a couple of gears anyway.

Procrastination had me up late. Trying to keep the house spotless while it's on the market is getting old, heh.

Another good day at the track. I place 2nd (as usual). Where was everyone else?

I hung out at home until 1:00, with hubby, until he left for work; then I got wrangled into helping a friend 'selectively edit' her accessories/furnishings/knick-knacks at her house, since she has it up for sale. She has ALOT of stuff that needs to be sorted through and packed up. I told her she needs to have the mother of all garage sales before she moves.

2nd isn't bad, as long as there are more than two people running in your class! :) How many did show & run or spectate?

You were there, Scott? I never saw your car. Were you running?

I alwasy get 2nd to the same driver. There are 2 sometimes 3 cars with 3-5 drivers in class.

I'm sorry I missed it, though I'm not at all sorry I didn't get up at 5AM to be there!

I did get to go to the car show at the Varsity here in Athens, and got my header installed, so I actually had a great day despite not autocrossing.

after a day of autocrossing the P5, I always get this on the rear window.

wiper fluid leaking out the nozzle at the top. under hard acceleration, my leaks

That's pretty funny, it looks like mud or something!

You should stick a piece of canvas on there and sell it afterward as "autocross art".
