Auto Window Down for ALL WINDOWS

I would like to set up all my switches on the drivers door to allow auto window down. What do I have to do? Can I just replace the switches with the Auto type, or do I have to do some wiring?

Thanks in advance!

here's an idea...

DEI 530T Window Automation module. Works 2 windows up AND down. (so 2 modules needed for 4 windows) can be used with or without an alarm. With an alarm, it can trigger them to roll up when armed, and be rolled up or down with extra alarm channels. Providing the alarm has these extra channels available.

Now, with this device... can you roll up and down the windows when the car is in operation or only when its stopped and parked? I'm also interested in getting a devise that puts the window up and down while I'm also driving.

Can anyone answer whether or not you can just replace the switches to other windows with the auto switch for the drivers window?

Doesn't seem like anyone knows. lol On my last car, every window including the sun roof auto up and auto down.

You'll have to bust out the EFSM (electrical factory service manual) to first see how it's all wired, then go from there. I only have a makeshift FSM, not much electrical in it.

The 530T can be bought from any DEI (Viper, Clifford, Python....) authorized dealer. To find a dealer www.directed.com

They come with instructions on how to wire it up. Basically, you cut the OEM window motor wires and insert the module inline. It has seperate input wires for remote operation and passive roll up when you arm the alarm.

DEI does not recommend the 530T be used with sunroofs, if that was somebodies next thought. They recommend the 520T window roll up module.

The windows will fuction as long as they have power. (key on) whether the car is moving or not is irrelevent. Never heard of a window not functioning when the car is in motion...or maybe i'm not understanding what your saying...

Uhm..My 3i comes with auto on all windows available by passenger side as standard. Us eurospec people have gotten every single detail better than US, except engine sizes. Well hell.

can you just buy three auto window buttons and exchange them with the three that arnt on the driver side? Isn't the auto widow button just a simple on/off switch?

Has anyone looked into doing a power window mod while the car is off? I have that on my P5, it's just a matter of swapping a fuse and a friend w/ a 3 5 door was interested in doing it to his car.

Hmm...

I was looking at my swithches, and the driver side definitely feels different. When you press it down, about halfway you can feel a little click. That tells me there is something definitely mechanical happening with the switch.
So there are two questions left:
1) are the switches easily interchangeable? If are they all soldered to a PC board, that gets ugly. Or if they have different # of wires that is definitely a no-go.
2) does the computer control the actual movement or does all of the control come from the second switch function?
If I had the time, I would pull it apart this weekend and swap the swithces around. But I have triplets, and my life is hell, so maybe someone else is daring enough???

I hear EVERYTHING is controlled by the computer on this car. Electrical, everything. I don't know if this would work.

not EVERYTHING

lamp bliking is controlled by electronic trigger outside tha computer 4exmpl
if u'll replace market bulbs with led it will blinking faster

same s*** with all those switchers i guess.. comp controls only main functions.

it even can't "understand" daylight (if headlamps are swiched on manually). it switches off my dashboard so i can see nothing during a day.

don't overestimate predictability of stupidity

i was wondering about this on my MSP. i was thinking about it yesterday actually. i'll subscribe to see if anyone finds an answer

You know you can hit the IP dimmer with the headlights on and it will make them full brightness, right?

whats the word on this...anyone try it yet? i guess i'll have to hit up the dealership and see if the relay is in the switch. if so i'll check out how much they are and maybe get a couple
