Hello guys, Newbie here, I have to say that I have been loving the P5(2thumbs). I just got a few qustions about the tranny cooler install,

1, Has anybody ever done this? I went to kragen and got a cooler, the install seems simple enough.
2, Where did you guys mount it? My P5 has AC and there is anAC cooler infront of the radiator already.
3, Will mounting the tranny cooler infront of the AC cooler affect the engine temperature i.e. will the car run hotter due to less airflow through the radiator?

Any feedback would help, Thank You!!:D

i cant answer these questions but if no one else does use the search feature, you may come up with more luck there... and welcome

Hello, welcome aboard. I have sport auto & have been running the hayden transaver stacked plate atf cooler for years now. It's the 20000 lb gvw model which is a step up in size from the suggested 18000 gvw model. I have the hot line going from the tranny to the factory cooler in the radiator then out to the hayden cooler in front of the AC condensor thru the opening on the side of the radiator then the cool line out of the hayden thru the same opening beside the radiator back to the return side on tranny. Works great & is 33% more efficient the the standard tube & fin coolers. Hot side just about too hot to hold but return side just luke warm. Also using AMSOIL synthetic atf which also helps keep temps down & has double the change intervals of regular atf. I don't go that far but do go about 50-55k between changes. 70k just seems a bit long to me. Have had no issues with engine temp with it in front of ac condesor/radiator. No issues at all. Not sure if I have any pics still posted up in here. Lemme look..........
