auto to manual swap

i found a wrecked car and ordered all the parts needed for the swap but we were'nt sure if i "need" the axles or not but if i do someone let me know so i can order those also, i think you do but im not sure, if i can save the extra money cool, if not o well, thanks! i did search and someone said you need them but im just double checking so if i dont ill save money

The axles in the auto model are different from the manual. I would pick them up if I were you.

How much is the swap setting you back?

well for all the parts its 900 bucks, im going to get a local shop to install it, we will see how much they will charge, its alot of work so just a guess is like 700 for install, so around 1600..but hopefully i can sell my tranny to someone after the swap for at least 500

you should have offered up a swap to the scrap yard for the auto. they might have given you a good chunck of money off the cost of the manual for the auto trannie.

That's acually cheaper than I thought it would be. A shop quoted me 2500 for everything. Where did you find the tranny? I will need one when I go turbo.

from a junk yard, he called some guy and found a 2001 protege that they were yanking apart and herbie, a junk yard will not install s*** like this, hell i wouldnt let them, id rather goto a shop that works on mazdas every day for the past 15 years, blackwidow you dont need one, but to run higher boost you do, im running 6 right now and its holding up fine..but i wouldnt go any higher then that

I meant they might have given you 3 or 4 hundered bucks for the auto trannie you have know and goen and sold it for themselves to make a couple bucks more, but save you the hassle of getting rid of it.

I wouldnt let ajunk yard look at my car, let alone touch it.haha

ya but i still have to take the auto tranny out before i can sell it anyhow..and its almost a 2 hour drive to there so id rather just ship it to someone
