Auto-dimming mirror on non fishbowls

So I'm looking at tinting my 07 Mica.

I'm curious on how that would affect the auto-dimming mirror feature.

If you have tinted your car, what % have you done in the back, and does the dimming feature still function properly? If so- have you found that it has at times made things too dark?

Thanks for the feedback.

Most auto dimming mirrors dim based on the light that hits them. The tint would cause less light to hit it therefore, one would assume, dim less. I don't have an MS3, but I would assume that the mirror in there wouldn't operate any different. Hope that helps...

I have 5% tint on my rear windows and auto dim. No problems at all! The lack of light coming through the rear just stops the auto dim from working as hard.

I have 5% in the back as well and the autodim works just fine.

The combination of the 5% and the autodim make quite a difference compared to my 20% and no autodim on the side mirrors. When I cover the light sensor on the autodim you can see how well it works...

I tinted my Speed just days after I bought it, so I have no comparison. The auto-dim does work, even with 15% tint. Odds are it's less responsive, but it does work.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It's pretty much what I thought- but I just wanted to be sure before I committed to the tinting.

The mirror inside our mazdaspeed3 have auto diming feature ???

The GT models come with it.

It's a option. My 09 GT didn't come with it as a standard feature. My tint is dark enough to where it doesn't make a difference anyway.
