ok, so i ordered a set of tokico illuminas that should be here on monday. my car is also scheduled to go into the body shop monday to finally get the hail damage repaired. how long would it take to install the struts and springs? i told the body shop id take my car in about 1 or so. ill get off work that morning about 1045-1130ish.

If any of the austin guys want to get together and give me a hand with this, it would be most awesome. i also have another option for install so it could go either way.

this could also be a chance for us to hang out. maybe get some lunch after the install and some chillage time.

hmmm, so i completey was not with it when i posted this thread. i realized, while taking a philosophy mid-term, that the 20th is a tuesday, and my car will be in the shop that day. so perhaps at some point later next week, before the saturday cruise, an install could take place?

I could help you out with it. I've got a set of spring compressors which you're going to need. PM me with some times that would be good for you and we'll see if we can't hook up.

im not sure how long my car will be in the shop. im still awaiting conformation that my carbon fiber hood has been shipped to the body shop where i am having my work done. ill let you know when its all done.

give it 4 hours if you have never done it before.

YOu will need air tools too.

only reason why you would need an air tool is for the endlinks. I had to break mine off cause I ****** up the nuts on both endlinks. Fronts where easy as pie with WD-40, rears just didnt give. If you can get or have the air tools, I recommend it just to make it easier for yourself and to save you the $50-$60 for the endlinks.

When I did mine I just sprayed them down 3 or 4 times with penatrating oil and let them sit while I undid everything else. I only stripped one of them on the front but I was still able to install the springs without a problem.

If you do it on a weekend I might beable to help. You'll have to bring it up here though. We can do it in the garage.

well, im going to wait until late july to install the struts. aaaand there is a chance that i might be bringing my moms car to put my p5 struts on her protege. not sure about that, but if yall would be willing to do two cars at the same time....

ill resurect this thread when the time comes. thanks guys.

ok guys, we got the springs and struts installed!!! no pics yet, but i will put some up when i have my carbon fiber hood on. in the city the car still rides incredibly well. its not bumpy at all, just firm. speed bumps are a pain though.

i took it to ntb yesterday and did the alignment. they either did a crappy job or didnt do it at all cause the car still pulls to the right and the steering wheel, when the car is going straight, is set slightly off set. back to try it again today.

going to san marcos to pay some bills, should be a comfortable ride on the highway. thanks again.

I've had some bad experience with NTB. Now I take my car and have service done at the Lamb's on Pecan St. It helps when I know the Lamb's also but they do great service and if anything happens, I just take it back and they fix it usually free of charge.

looks like the second time was the charm. drives like an arrow now. the ride was great in the highway. very smooth. but at the same time, handles like a beast in the corners (drive2)

now i just cant wait to get that awr 21 sway bar on the rear and new tires. then ill lead down lcr and see if yall can keep up
