Audio sample rate

Just burned an audio CD yesterday and not all of the songs I burned played. Is this due, to the songs that did not play, having too high of a bit rate?

I am thinking maybe I should have left them in MP3 format and just burned straight to disk. BTW I have a 2007 GT w/ NAV and BOSE stereo w/ in-dash CD changer.

Not sure, opened Nero and selected audio CD, dropped the files in and it automatically converted and burned.

Problem solved. Instead of selecting "Make Audio CD" in Nero music cd options I selected " Make mp3 CD." I played it in the CD changer and all songs played. Of note, the mix of the songs were at 128, 256, and 320 kbps bit rates. Also by choosing the mp3 option, the processing glitches that were audible in "audio CD" format were not present.

From WorkShop manual, it looks like the player can handle WMA just like mp3.
I haven't tried it yet.

My in-dash changer will not play WMA.

The owner's manual supports this. It discusses only MP3 for in-dash changer, and MP3/WMA for rear entertainment system.

My Cadillac STS and C6 Corvette won't play WMA either. My wife's Santa Fe does though.

In case you didn't know, Switch Sound File Converter will convert WMA files to MP3s. In fact, you may convert any type of sound file to almost any other type with no appreciable loss in quality.

Even with MP3, the bit rate allowed is 98kbps to 320kbps.

Any idea if the audio system can handle variable bit rates? Some of the new encoders (FreeRip for example) can use either constant, variable or average bit rates when ripping. I'd kinda like to use variable or average rather than specify a higher than necessary bit rate for everything. Anyone tried this? I'd just do it but am concerned that it might be an intermittent problem with only some recordings so would like to see if anyone has specific knowledge or experience with this topic?

VBR works just fine with 07' and 10' CX-9.
I don't know 08' and 09', but 07' only plays MP3. 10' plays both WMA and MP3.
Because I have NAV, so I only have single CD.
However, I have iPhone so I can stream to CX-9 Bluetooth Audio and the quality is really good.

I suspect that '08 and '09 can handle WMA also, 'cause the WorkShop manual says so.
