After some searching, I've found that the BOSE system uses a 2 ohm setup for its speaker system? Is this right?
Also, here's my plan.
-Install LOC from factory HU, run to boot/hatch area
-Run power line through gromit on driver's side to boot/hatch area
-Run remote line from ??? to boot/hatch area
-Power a 1 channel amp with sub
-Power a 2 channel amp with 6x9's (the "back" speakers are muddy s****)
-Buy an extra hatch lid from Mazda, modify it with hear-through material (not attaching speakers to it for stealth reasons)
Because there are no low level outputs from the factory HU (bastards), will any speakers run off of it to an amp sound like poopy? Can I replace the factory speakers with 4 ohm or 2 ohm ones? Will this actually sound better - I've read mixed reports on this forum in searches.
I'm worried about the high level outputs having "cut" frequencies. I hate bass thats not crisp, I don't want to amplify a bunch of above 60hz frequencies and miss all the low stuff I want because its already cut out by the factory HU.
Lastly, should I just strip my damn car and replace EVERYTHING.
